May Monthly Meet--Sat. May 14th--4pm--Hooter's!
IT'S A DONE DEAL!!!
Hooter's--Saturday May 14th--4PM!
link below to Location/map ETC
http://hooters.Know-Where.com/hooter...e=030&address=
The "official" monthly meet is hanging out at Hooter's for a couple hours. As we have discussed before, what U want to do, where U want to go after that, is your business.
If U want to go home--cool!
If U want to go out to one of the drag strips--cool!
If U want to stay at Hooter's and get drunk and look at Hooter's--cool!
HOWEVER, since several of U want to go for a mass cruise, about 6/6:30PM, I am planning on going to the Sam's Club show on I-10W@ Hwy. 6. (weather permitting) If anybody else wants to go , especially those U have never been and don't quite know where it is, then fall in line and follow me! I'll probably hang out there a couple hours and then head for the house.
OH Yeah--In the event of rain--THE MONTHLY MEET WILL NOT BE CALLED OFF!!! That's why we are having this at an "indoor" type location. If it does not rain, we can hang out inside and outside--pop the hoods, and tell lies about how fast your car is. If it does rain, we'll just have to tell all the lies inside! (Besides that's where all the Hooter's are!!! (OH Yeah--Barry and/or Larry--you're only allowed to drop your fork, and ask the waitress to pick it up for U, twice per monthly meeting!)
Be thinking about where we should have the June monthly meeting. In my opinion, since this one is kinda centrally located on the west side of town, and since there are a number of people in the S/E area, seems like that would be the fair thing to do.
We DO NOT have to have it at a Hooter's again, but then again there's nothing wrong with that either, except I don't want to get in a rut right off the bat! If there is any kind of special event going on, such as a special car show, swap meet, Bikini contest/WET T-shirt contest (those get special consideration!), ETC, anything that we would want to combine with our monthly meeting, especially in the S/E or East part of town (or any part of town), let us know for a possible location. It would probably best that we have the location, for the next month's meet, figured out before the end of the month, so everybody has time to plan out their day.
Comments, Suggestions, ETC?????????
If we stick to our second Saturday of every month thing, then it would be June 11thfor the June monthly.
OH Yeah--I have seen a small magazine from time to time called the "Cruzin Times", that has a list--dates/locations/times ETC, of most of the local Hou. area meets for all different types of car clubs. If naybody sees one of those, snag a couple so we can see what's going on in Hou. area!

It appears that both threads on the summer neet have lost interest. I take it (from the obvious lack of posts) that going to Tomball is not a popular choice. (going to a park and hanging out, and then a cruise to Sam's) I personally thought Texas LT1 had a good idea. I think it's time to do something NEW and IMPROVED. I guess it is something we can discuss at the monthly meeting. So if you want to have a say-so in the summer meet activities, you should show up at the monthly! HEY, ROCKY!!!!!!! Even though you don't have a thirdgen anymore, we'd love to have ya!!!! (Or are you hangin' with the 'Vette guys, now? LOL) Think about it, guys. I don't know about you, but I'd like to have the summer meet before it gets too friggin' hot, like early June.

I agree! The 2 main topics of discussion at the May monthly (besides Thirdgens and Major league Hooters!
), should be the BIG summer meet, and the June monthly.
If we follow the guidelines we discussed for the monthlys, it will be June 11th/4PM, but we need to figure a location and/or activity. We all agreed to move it around the city to be fair for everybody. Since May is somewhat centrally located on the west side of town, and somewhat covers the NW-W- SW members, I would think the next monthly should be SE, since that's the next major concentration of members, according to the list we put together? This is not deceided yet--up for discussion!
As for the BIG summer meet--I'm at a loss at the moment. I would like to go somewhere and/or do something different, but I don't have any good ideas. Puttin one of these things together is harder that it looks to the outsider. Put on your Tom Terrific thinking hats (Man does that date me!) and come up with some creative ideas.

Any other guesses on how many thirdgen cars will show up at the May monthly? Duplicate guesses--OK!
Hey, I got an idea! To make this interesting, and to add a little incentive to get more to guess:
EVERYBODY THAT SHOWS UP WITH THEIR THIRDGEN--PUTS UP ONE DOLLAR IN A POOL. THE ONE IS ACTUALLY THERE AT THE MEET, THAT GUESSED THE CLOSEST WINS THE MONEY!
If there's a tie, it will be split between those two.
What do U think?

Actually, I guess U would NOT actually have your thirdgen there to be in the pool, but U DO have to be at the monthly meet.

Just from cruising the different threads, I think there will definately be more than 6 attending the monthly. Which is definately a good thing.

Unfortunately I have a scheduling conflict. As much as I want to go it will mean missing a weekend of jet skiing at the beach.

I'm gonna be there
I'm gonna be there, I got that whole work thing sorted already.
there are these guys that live a couple of blocks away from me, that have abou three thirdgen camaros, they are not the prettiest looking thirdgens in the world but they are still thirdgens. I have been thinking about stoping by and inviting them to the meet, just don't know what kind of reaction I will get if I stop at their house and knock on there door like some sort of damn salesman, you know what I mean?
Anyways I guess it's time to do a roll call, who all is still in and 100% positive they will be there?

I understand the feeling. Has there been any one page type flyers made up? I have a lot of third gens in the area, but I'm a little cautious about the cold approach also. I'd like to get the word out in my area, specially for the Summer Thing which is very local. I'd feel much better with a sheet of paper in my hand. I'm not a cold call salesman, failed miserably at that.
Certainly going to be there.

Cool
Thats cool, hey what was decided with that southeast cruise to the hooters deal? Did anything ever get decided on that?
What side of town are you in wheel spin.
Come on guys lets arrange a meeting a spot and ****. I still think that HEB on woodridge off the 610 is a good idea very convinent for the pasadena guys and other people coming from that direction, and it ain't that bad for people coming from the baybrook mall area (webster/seabrook)
Anyways let me know what you think, once again for complete and better directions from your house to that HEB use the yahoo map deal. the exact street is 3111 Woodridge DR.

This is a "brother-in-law" type deal. Red Line Racing in Tomball is going to do it. It's a hook-up thru Greg. Cost? "We'll work something out". So, I can't see it being that costly. And, since I spent LOTS of coin for the complete kit, it's ALL going in. If something doesn't work out with the kit, I can always take it off. But, I'm definately going to need the extra rear-end support.

OK SE Guys we gonna meet up ? Here's a couple of scenarios for ya'll
1) RudyT and Wheelspin come up Hwy 146 and meet me at corner of Fairmont Parkway and Hwy 146 there's a Burger King there. Then we ride Hwy 225 to Pasadena, Richey Street and Hwy 225 there's a Denny's there we meet up with RSChris and 83Blackwidow. From there we ride Hwy 225 to South 610 and get to Gulfgate area to meet up with MMroc at Woodrige and hWY 45. Then we all ride up to the meet.
2) RudyT and Wheelspin ride Hwy 45 to Gulfgate (Woodridge and Hwy 45) I will meet up with RSChris and 83Blackwidow at Denny's from there we will ride Hwy 225 to South 610 and to Gulfgate where we will meet up with RudyT,Wheelspin and MMroc, then on to the meet.
3) Do like MMroc suggested and we all meet at Hwy 45 and Woodridge and then run up to the meet.
Do not think I am trying to make my commute short, I use my 'bird for work, daily. This week so far two trips to Bryan College Station, next week a trip to Tyler (4hrs each way). All for the love of my job of course
And I am open for other suggestions too.
Craig I'm trying to put together a flyer..when done I will email to you or post here and take both constructive and non-constructive criticism.

works
That works for me, now all we have to do is inform the rest of the guys, maybe we should start a new thread for this. I say we give it a day, we need every southeast guy to respond to this telling us they agree with the meeting arrangements and will be there, that way we don't have to start a new thread.
mail me a copy of the flyer to: Irocz28mancha@hotmail.com
I say we make alot of copies and start putting them on all thirdgens we see, hell how bout every camaro or firebird/transam we see no matter what the year is. That way we get a huge turnout next month. Come on guys we gotta get the ball rolling or we will be rolling solo every month!

3) Do like MMroc suggested and we all meet at Hwy 45 and Woodridge and then run up to the meet.

45 and Woodridge is just A LITTLE past the old Gulfgate mall. There is a Denny's at the corner across from the Shell gas station.

No 3111 woodridge is the spot. yes it is where the old gulfgate mall used to be, it is now a little shopping center of sorts. The plan is to meet at the HEB in that plaza it has a huge parking-lot, we can meet near the HEB gas station which is in that same parking lot.

Right then,
3111 Woodridge, HEB fuelie station.
Hooters is at 4:00, so we plan for 3:00, depart 3:20/:30?
Someone on this train familiar with the route to the correct Hooter?
Rudy, You are what, Seabrook? I can meet you enroute or at Gulfgate. I'll probably head straight to 45 from here, so anywhere along 45?

well, I suck! I don't know for sure if I'm going to make it at 4pm to hooters. apparently it's a cousin's birthday and yadda yadda yadda. I should make it out to a track that night though, anyone going anywhere? hopefully though I'll still be able to make it to hooter-ville before everyone bails!
