The official dyno day post!
DYNO DAY IN CONCORD, CA - SET FOR JULY 16TH
288 Sally Ride Drive - Concord, CA 94520. Very easy to get to from Highway 4. We're going to be meeting there at 9 AM!!! Look sharp!!
If you want to come later though, feel free too. 10-1030 is fine.
UPDATED DYNO DAY INFO 6/7/05:
We're set for the 16th of July! E-mail me at urbanhunter44@sbcglobal.net if you have any further questions!
The owner of the shop, KC, has graciously offered to award trophies at the dyno day, for highest dyno and best looking car.
So bring your wax!
Also, wanted to let you guys know another detail:
The night before the dyno day, 7/15, Friday, I'm having a party at my house. YOU ARE ALL INVITED! There will be booze and good times. Maybe a cruise before we bust out the alcohol
This is also a plus for those of you that are coming from far away, as the day is going to start a little early (8-9ish, not suer yet). You're welcome to stay the night with me. There's plenty of room.
If you want to come party with me and my friends on Dyno Day eve, shoot me an email!

It all in all sounds like a very fun day, and a good deal for $55. Their normal price is $85 I believe.
I'd be very interested in doing this sometime next month. Figure it'll take that long so that everyone can get time off work and what not.
Possible dates:

July 16th - Most people want this, this is the tentative date.
July 23rd

Okay. I stopped by BRGRacing here in Concord and checked it out. It looks like a pretty professional place, with lots of room for cars to park and maybe set up a BBQ.
I sent an e-mail to Jason just a few minutes ago, here is the email in it's entirety:
Howdy! My name is Tony Garcia, and I stopped in awhile ago, doubt you remember me though.
I have a number of cars (mostly 3rd and 4th generation F-Bodies) that would like to get dynos, and I was wondering if there might be a group rate possible if I got all of them to come out? There would probably be at least 10 cars, probably alot more (thinking around 20 or so).
I think it would be an excellent opportunity for both you and the community, as you would be advertised on several prominent forums on the net to set up the dyno day, and good for us.. because we get our cars dynoed.
It would be great fun and I hope to hear back from you guys about this. Thanks alot!
- Tony.
There would be members of this forum, hopefully fbody.com, and hopefully ls1tech.com, as I'm members of both. If you would like to advertise elsewhere, feel free, and post back with how many would come.
So now what I need is a show of hands from this site, who would come?
Please try not to get too off topic, I'd like to keep this thread about the possibility of a dyno day.

We must have the same taste in cars Steve.
Between this and the TTA, you're going down my list, haha.
That one even has my rims, exactly where I got the idea for the look.
The 70-72's are my fav.
Only one's I would consider.
Good luck, probably wants a lot.

I like the grand national and all but it just looks like an old man car.I used to have a 79 t/a and it was cool and I like the 72's.I'm pretty sure I'll get the 4th gen though but that 72 is sexy!I have a guy that wants my stang for 1700 and I will be getting about 6,000 from insurance so I should make out with more than I was asking so...There are just too many sweet cars to choose from.

I can't decide between classic muscle or new muscle.I would love the have a new 4th gen but there's nothing like the rumble of old school.

I think it depends on your use for the car.
If you have a daily driver and this will be just weekend/road race car, get whatever.
I wouldn't go for classic if it will be out a lot.
New muscle is more practical.

Went down and talked to them today, it's a mustang dyno, and it's a nice looking setup.
We CAN rent the dyno for the whole day, I'll post back when I get the pricing.

Well, just talked to the adjuster and she is giving me 5,000 and I get to keep the car so I'll part out the rest and make more than what I was asking to sell it pre accident.Hopefully I'll have a new ride by then,if not maybe I'll do one of the 4runners.

OKAY GUYS!!!! GOT DYNO DAY INFO!! I'm posting this at the top of the thread as well.
I talked to K.C., he's the owner. I also spoke to Jason, he's a pretty nice guy and was working on bikes the whole time lol.
They have a nice setup, very professional. They also do performance work there as well. Had an '05 Mustang GT in there that they were doing something to. The dyno is a Mustang dyno as well.
For $55 each person can get three pulls and a quarter mile time with simulated load, it's pretty damn accurate. KC said he'd bring out his trailer and set up a BBQ and a tent and chairs for everyone as well.
It all in all sounds like a very fun day, and a good deal for $55. Their normal price is $85 I believe.
I'd be very interested in doing this sometime next month. Figure it'll take that long so that everyone can get time off work and what not.
Possible dates:
July 9th
July 16th (I prefer this one)
July 23rd
July 30th
Those are all saturdays. If you have a special reason for not being able to make a saturday let me know.
I WILL be bringing lots of hot dogs and sodas and stuff, and after the dynoing we can have a cruise. I know a nice hour cruise route that's alot of fun, includes straightaways and twisties, and lots of people
We'd probably get started early in the morning (10ish maybe?), and start cruising in the late afternoon (4-5ish).
Let me know your date preferences!

Yeah the 1/4 time thing seems pretty neat. Granted it's only a simulation, but they usually aren't off by more than a tenth at most.

I'm guessing they are using rwhp and weight to calculate the 1/4 and I've always just estimated mine based on what I've got so far in the 1/4.
Hopefully around 250rwhp and 3600lbs.

I think what they do is set it up so that you actually 'run' the quarter mile. And the dyno sets a load against your wheels that is similar to a track, that way you get a very accurate 1/4 time. I think.

right know any day would be good with me
I've seen the 1/4 mile done on the dyno kinda
, cause if you don't have traction on the track you don't have traction on the dyno. you'll seen the cars rear sliding from side to side on the dyno Supreme Member

Awesome!
Just tell me where to be and when. I'm all over this. I am really curious about the RHP on the LO3 I have. Guessing 180 maybe? Call it wishful thinking.
Tony... U are da man. Lemme know what else needs to be brought and I will see if I can swing it.

There will be BBQ, so bring some hot dogs/hot links/bratwursten/hamburger or whatever. Chips and dip is cool too! Soda.. beer.. whatever!
If you can't afford anything, that's fine too.
I personally will be bringing a few boxes of chips (all different kinds.. get them for free) and some hot dogs. I think I'm also going to be the chef

hahaha, sounds good!!
If you want to come party with me and my friends on Dyno Day eve, shoot me an email! urbanhunter44@sbcglobal.net.
