My Gta's Life Long Battle (long Post)

Ok so lets start from the beggining a little over a year ago i was driving on a hot day coming home from out of town. I got about 15 minutes into the country at 55 mph i stopped got on it a little and got about a mile down the road and suddenly started having no throttle response as i watched the rpms fall i pulled over and the car died i cranked it a couple times it wouldnt fire, then it wouldent crank at all. So i went into town got a buddy went out checked the battery voltage it was fine i tried to start it it fired right up and sounded fine i turned it around and went about 1/10th of a mile and i lost power again, give it gas and it would just bog out. then it wouldent start again at all, but would crank, so i towed it to town. I took it to a local shop they said i had 3 bad injectors which caused the computer to shut down, so i replaced the injectors. Next day tried to drive home exact same thing happened, towed it again shop said computer done. Next day installed autozone computer ran fine for about 3 1/2 months then one day it wouldent start, pickup coil and ignitoin coil bad, so i replaced the whole distributer, cap and rotor and set timing it ran ok for a couple hours i parked it took a shower came out and when i started it got the ses light and it wasnt runnin very smooth i took it for a ride and it had no power was sputtering and wouldent go faster than 40. I eventually figured out the timing was not advancing, so i replaced the ecm again( no help from autozone with the 3 month warranty ) car ran like a champ again. Then a couple months ago i parked it overnight came back and it cranked but wouldent fire tested ignition module it was bad replaced module car happy again. Then a couple weeks ago i replaced my light switch because the headlights havent gone down on theyre own in years, wha la problem fixed or so it seemed. Two nights later my headlights wouldnt work at all along with the power locks, cigarette lighter ect, turned out to be a wire coming off the starter, so driving in traffic a couple days later i realized my cooling fan isnt kicking on so i stopped at a gas station as the car got up to around 225-230 deg and let her cool off a minute while i went in, came back out and it wouldent crank at all. I let it sit for a half hour or so it started and ran with no issues until last night. So last night i went out and raced a mustang, it was a very close race but we both broke the cars. Anyway my car was already runin about 218 deg when we launched ran a short 1/4 very hard then all of the sudden loss of power just like the very first instance it cranked then wouldnt crank at all, i came back later and it started but was runnin terrible couldnt even give it gas it would just bog then it wqouldent run at all. So i swapped ecms back to the one that would run the car but not advance the timning, it didnt change anything. So im thinking it may be another ign module. Anyway most of these issues seem related to a bad ground or shorted connection, my question is does anyone have any idea where to start, has anyone had these probles combined??? Could it be wires off the starter?? I would love to have a reliable car again so any help would be appreciated. And sorry about the monster of a post just want everyone to understand this battle.

You will be better off in the long run buying genuine AC Delco parts. Allen

Problkem solved 3 bad injectors one at 5 ohms and two at 8, unplugged the 5ohm injector and it fired right up.

'89=Mulcrap injectors. Get some Ford Motorsport ones.

As for the connections question, I'd start with the basic connections coming off the batt. check them at the block and starter and make sure they are clean and tight.

Another thing, did you throw any codes during any of these 'problem times'? Keep an eye on things as you may have an intermittent problem that you haven't corrected as yet.
