My system is complete! (pics)
My amp came the other day so I took some time today to fit it into my custom box. This not only made things sound soo good, it also completed my system. Tell me what you think.

That looks awesome! The only thing that detracts is the wires, but is it possible to even hide those? I love the tiny cowboy hat, that's great..

The settings are digital; something I have never experienced on an amplifier. To adjust the gain, input voltage, bass bost, etc. you simply push a few buttons and the bright blue display shows you exactly how you have it set up. The display also has a function which cycles through to show volts/temp c*/temp f*.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I think the old amps looked much better, but I think its pretty tough to beat these new amps all together. Here's to Alpine!

Very nice job man. I agree about the wires, but also see there's not alot you could do. Maybe fabricate a small shield to put them under that runs between the two subs? But it looks good!

Why dont you just put some wire loom on the wire and zip tie em up.

Yes that'd be 666 RMS. Somewhere around 900 max, I'm not too sure. I've thought about wire loom, but I'm a little uncertain how it'll look. I'll have to try it out and then decide.

I saw someone at a show use actual solid core wire (it looked like a coat hanger) and he bent it into a tribal design and ran it from voice coil to voice coil and then wire to the amp...looked cool.
That box, not to mention the whole car and system, looks awesome. How long has it taken you? and hows it sound? oh ya, nice thumbs up in the shadow that was slick, lol.

does 666RMS watts seem to be enough to push both of your subs? 12", right?
at first I thought that was a clock display on your amp, heh.
I was looking into those digital amps, but then I figured that's more stuff to break. The only way I'd get a digitally-controlled amplifier is if I could control it via my headunit. Kenwood can control their high-end amps via Kenwood Excelon headunits, and I bet Alpine is the same. If only I liked Alpine headunits... for shame.
At first I really didn't like your box, but when you see it in the whole car, it's definitely a show-stopper. Can you give us some pictures of the whole car? Maybe some with the hatch open too?
I gotsta see those flames.

How Do you like the Alpine R's in those kick panels. I have the same panel design in my GTA and am looking for replacement kicks. PS System looks killer i like those new Alpines too. Espescially seeing as you can control all the amps setting right off the headunit if you have the right setup. As for the wires. You could use some spacers for Sparkplug wires. It would l keep them nice and straight. Just have to find some 2 wire ones for small sparkplug wires. Just a suggestion.

looks like you have those LED replacement bulbs, like me...
too bad you can't see them very well in daylight... I get people almost crashing into me about 10 times a day.

well the first comment was about how high up your car is in the rear... I figured you did that whole 'grasshopper' thing with your springs.
and looking at your tail lights, it appears that they are small dots in the center, instead of a normal bulb... I guess it's just an optical illusion, because you obviously don't have replacment LED tails, right?

Alrighty... That's weird, because I have stock springs too, and it easily sits 2-3 inches lower than yours.... Did they change them from year-to-year?

hey 82firebird... add those pics you put in the other thread... the one from the rear with the hatch closed... holy crap your car looks sweet from that angle...
say... is that your real license plate? and uh, what's your mailing address? I wanna send you, uh, a free brochure... yeah, and a free gift
I don't want to steal your car. Okay you got me! You keep it locked up in a garage at night right? I've been broken into in much less-conspicuous rides, with worse audio systems...

The car never leaves my sight. And even when it isn't in my direct sight, it's locked away in the garage. Before you get to the garage though, you're going to have to beat the barb-wire topped gate.. and the trio of dobermans.

The car isn't my daily driver and even if I would park it somewhere and leave it; there's a pretty nice alarm watching over it.

if it's a high-end alarm, it's easy to trick them
they have nuissance-prevention technology... (default enabled,) which is a theif's dream.
go out and pound on the window... run off... 3 times within 60 minutes, and it will stop responding to that trigger... then as long as you don't have a glassbreak sensor, they are home-free... as long as the stuff can fit through the window.
get a radar sensor, and a glassbreak sensor... they're cheap.

my friend ryan on his 86 iroc accually has a pager with his alarm and when it is set off it pages the pager and shows what part of the car was hit. Also if the alarm is activated the starter is disabled. The car WILL NOT start until he hits the buttons on the pager. Pretty sweet if you ask me.

you just described pretty much every alarm that exists.... except the ones they sell at Wal-Mart
it's easy to bypass the alarm starter-kill if you know what colors to look for...
the real benefit is that NO ONE would ponder stealing our cars, other than for a joyride, or to steal the contents.

I'm not going to go into detail about what my alarm consists of but I'm pretty sure it's not junk. It has atleast 2 of the above features that you mentioned plus a few more. It's not a worry of mine.
