LT1 Swap Guys: How did you do your throttle cable?

I tried my factory TBI and there is no way it will work and an LT1 car cable is the same length. There just happened to have been a 1990 corvette outside so I went and looked at it and found that the cable hooks up perfect but is a little too long. I cut the end of the cable and put a cable stop on it and it worked while putting the finishing touches on my car. I drove the car for the first time and the next day, after a few hours of showing people, I started up a road and the cable stop came off. I know if I use a cable stop again it will just come off again like today. I have searched and most people say the factory TPI cable works with "a little modification" but they don't tell what. How did you guys do yours? Any pics or desciptions?

I got a cable for a like 91 or 92 tpi car. I had to file down the throttle cable bracket a little bit to get the cable to fit right, but now it's fine.

92 tpi, had to cut away a little bit of the plastic on it to fit the LT1 bracket, basically i made the plasitc part of the tpi cable look like the LT1 cable, notched it out a little bit.

How? The one I tried for the 93 barely reached the bracket and there was no way it would reach the throttle.

I got one for a 91' TPI car an it worked perfect. Thanks for the help.

I'm running a set of 4th gen pedals, maybe that makes the difference.

Re: LT1 Swap Guys: How did you do your throttle cable?

Im running a 93 LT1 cable with my stock 3rd gen pedals. It hooks up easy, but the cable is too long. If I floor the pedal, I only get about 60% throttle at the throttle body.

I just bought a 92 TPI cable... We will see if that fixes my problem.

Re: LT1 Swap Guys: How did you do your throttle cable?

I ended up getting a '92 TPI cable, the LT1 cable worked when it was in my '86 but in the '87 it was different *shrug*

Re: LT1 Swap Guys: How did you do your throttle cable?

I went a bit different and used a lokar stainless braided throttle cable.. I believe it is the TPI cable that they offer.. more expensive but if you want that style pm me and I will dig up the part number.
