Its a 2.77 posi rear end... posi works and gears are in good condition. i'm asking 45 plus shipping. approximately 140K miles on the posi but majority highway miles. posi worked fine before i upgraded to 3.27's

Re: 9-bolt; Could you clarify please? You state in the same sentance 2.77 gears & upgraded 3.27's. Did you switch the 9 bolt gears or are you talking about the new rear end you installed?

its an original 9 bolt rear end that came with 2 series carrier and 2.77 gears. i took that posi carrier and gears out and had 3.27 gears on a 3 series carrier put into the rear.

now i have a 10 bolt 4th gen fbody rear end so i dont need the 9 bolt anymore

I'm a bit slow on the uptake of understanding how we can switch parts around in our 9-bolts, so I thank you for explaining that switching the innards is possible to a 3.27 gear set up. Let me know if the initial buyer dosn't come through. I've got cash/Paypal . Nitro

yes, switching from 2.77s to 3.27's or higher requires a new carrier. 2.77's have a 2 series carrier. 3.27's and up have a 3 series carrier.

 

If you still have the brakes, put me in line for them.

How much for just the posi, shims, etc? And will they work in a series 3 carrier? I've not done much with these rears.

 

I'm not sure if the internals of a 2 series will swap to a 3 series but if they do you can look into that.

i remember selling my broken 3 series to a guy that was gonna try to put in 2 series parts.. Not sure if it ever worked or not.

 

yes they swap fine, the internals are the same.
