In case anybody has any doubts, this engine not only runs perfect, but it's one of the most bad A** motors I've ever seen. you will not be dissappointed!

 

Sounds like you have the setup I'm building or one of the options I'm going to. I'm pickup up a 383 forged LT1 block and really thinking about going over to the dark side and pulling all my TPI stuff out and doing a carb blow-thru setup. I just haven't had much luck tuning the TPI and the ECM. WOT and cruzin' she's good, but idle and below 1500rpm, she's a PIA. How do you like the DFI stuff and how difficult was it to set it up? Are you running a MSD timing retard for the Vortech boost? I might be interested in your DFI and the 350 Tranny. I'm running 8lbs of boost right now and will probably keep that setup with the 383. Just a little leary of the electronic systems running procharger. Why you switching over to the LS1 setup? Seems like you got a powerhouse there, already.

I really like the setup that i have, But I got a good deal on the ls1-t56.
I like the FAST EFI ECM & it has a wide band o2 sensor too, seems easy to tune & I have a dvd that kinda shows you how to tune it, Basic stuff. The fast ecm controls all the boost timing retarding.
I want to make it more of a power tour type car &
1. Be able to go on local cruises & not so local cruises
2. AC
3. ls1 t56 in a thirdgen is cool
4. have power on tap if you want it
5. Better gas mileage
and the ls1 might end up supercharged too, maybe

The mini ram is SOLD to 682XLR8 . I need to sell more of these parts before I start the disassembling process. The car is still running until i sell the short block, long block, heads, headers. Anybody interested in these parts?

Did this combo have good street maners and how easy was it to tune? How bad was the mpg?

 

Talked to Robbie today, he asked if he could hang on to the Miniram for now so he can run the motor for anyone interested in buying it. Since I'm in no hurry, I said sure

And the street manners seems to be good to me, driving around was normal UNTIL you put your foot in it! Always make me qrit me teeth, if that makes since! And the MPG was around 12-16 cruising, without putting your foot in it.........
