How will they work with stock mechanical sending units?

 

yes , they are designed to work with the stock set. from 82-92.

 

They would fit in the stock.location of the cluster?

 

Yes they are designed to replace the gauges. and mount to the cluster, imprints. instructions are included for mounting and stuff of that nature. even has smoked covers, to replace the clear gauge cluster glass.
