Hawk's fiberglass Aero wing
They finally got enough people on board to ship out their fiberglass wing at the group buy discount, and mine arrived today. It came much faster than I was expecting for a freight shipping method all the way out to WA; I am impressed with whoever they used (it came to my fiance's shop). Shipping cost was also cheap at $157.99 (I expected more for an item this size). Wing arrived in excellent shape, and the quality is amazing. It doesn't look like it needs anything except primer and paint! Finish is smooth all over, no rough spots. I still have to test fit it onto my car, so I don't yet know how fitment is going to be (it's dark out & car is outside), but I am not anticipating much trouble. My fiance remarked that it is much better looking than any other fiberglass part he's ever received, which I guess have been varying degrees of rough. The Hawk's wing came with it's own mounting hardware too.
Thank you Hawk's, you guys have been great to deal with! And thank you for being willing to delay shipping on my wing until my fiance got out of the hospital. He lived, and looks like he will make a full recovery.
Since it will be a year or more until I can get to painting my car, my wing is proudly hanging on the wall inside my house for all to see, lol. We're a car family, we don't think that's weird....

Re: Hawk's fiberglass Aero wing
I just ordered an ABS headliner and fiberglass rear spoiler. I have heard the spoiler looks and fits good. But the headliner sucks.Time will tell. My only problem with Hawks so far is I ordered on Mon. and they said it would ship on Tue.,but probably Wed. Its now Fri. and after calling them this AM they said it would ship today. As of 7:30 pm tonite I still have no tracking #. Im not so sure I like doing business with them at the moment.

My ttop headliner fit great, I did install and overhead console at the same time. I recently received the fiberglass spoiler as well, looks great but I have not had a chance to test fit it on the car yet. I've never had a problem with their shipping in the past, could just be the holiday rush? Hope everything works out for you.

Re: Hawk's fiberglass Aero wing
As requested, here's a pic. I haven't test fitted it onto my car yet due to constant rain and the car lives out in the elements. But here it is hanging on my wall.
...house is a fixer-upper in progress, so my walls are less than awesome.... Because of the wall being imperfect and the angle at which I took the photo, it makes the wing look tweaked in this pic.

Re: Hawk's fiberglass Aero wing
I FINALLY GOT MY SPOILER AND HEADLINER 12/28,Hawks just forgot to send me the tracking # so would know it was shipped. I did try fitting the spoler to the car and the pass side finger has a bow in it that keeps it 1/2 in above the deck, otherwise Im quite pleased with the finish and the rest of the fit. I contacted Hawks about the problem and told them that I needed 4 more of the clips that hold the fingers down (they only supply 1 per side when there are 3 per side)and I thought that That might take the bow out. They informed me that there would be a $10. chg for the 4 clips. So,I informed them If I had to pay for something that should be supplied with the spoiler to take care of a manf. defect I would just send it back. They changed thier tune and told me they were shipping them out. Time will tell if they will work,if not I might be forced to send it back.

I am using the clips because the car had them when I bought it. But I would like to take the wing off and use the screws in the recesses to mount to the original hardware. It seems like a better way - more secure. The fit is OK, but it could take a little more tweaking to get it to fit the way I want.

Im not sure I can get the bow out of the finger or not, even with the clips. I can stick my finger between it and the deck, but the drv side fits perfect.

Re: Hawk's fiberglass Aero wing
post a pic to the thread, i wanna see this myself. BTW, your gonna need another person to help mount the wing going the screw path, we did.
on the inside of the wing spears, they seem to not fit right like its rolled outward sort of but on the outside it looks norm, atleast its this way on my wing. im alright with this as its not that bad tho.

Re: Hawk's fiberglass Aero wing
I got a Hawks spoiler a few weeks ago. It was $90 for the shipping, then I paid about 300 to have it painted and installed.
Pics attached. The last one is how bad my old one was. It was ONLY held on by the 2 bolts by the third brake light, and the rubber was so rotted none of the fasteners along the sides were attached. I was shitting bricks driving it on the highway.
Anyway, it fit no problem and looks awesome. One thing: when I press the hatch release button the whole hatch springs open because it is so light. It's no big deal though, it opens slow.

I open mine from outside/key,the struts is to strong for this type of spoiler.I'm going to change my lifts to http://www.1aauto.com/1A/LiftSupport...SP00093/361086
these are for non spoiler car.

Re: Hawk's fiberglass Aero wing
Thanks for the tip on the shocks. I just recently changed mine, and the glass fell on my wrist while doing it, so no way in hell I am changing them again anytime soon...

Re: Hawk's fiberglass Aero wing
LOL well I was holding it up, with The Club...But then after I replaced one shock I removed the club before I did the second one - for some reason I assumed one shock was enough to hold up the glass. Once I popped the other shock off the glass came down on my wrist on one arm and my forearm on the other, I was kind of stuck under it for a minute. I was just bruised a bit, but I suppose it could have broken my wrist if it hit right.
