Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
i wrecked my iroc on Halloween (tragedy) so ill have to replace my front bumper, as well as the passanger front panel!
The problem is, i do NOT know how to take this damn bumper off...
and for the panel, i took off the five or so bolts up top. That should free the top part. I have not taken off the bolt that holds the fender and bumper together yet. But i think there is 1 more bolt that i have not found, and i hear its by the wheel well? All help would be Great!
Thanks!

Yea I believe one is inside the door when you open it you will see bolt holding the fender on. and then don't forget the fender well covers. They old the fender on to. and a bolt on the bottom of the fender front is a bolt i believe. Now for the actual bumper should be 4 bolts i think. not to sure. But you look under the car should be 2 bolts on each side driver and passenger. But again been a while to see how they come off but the fenders yea you almost got that bugger off.

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
There are 4 studs that come from the bumper into the fenders. You can see them by getting underneith the car and looking from the wheel well up to where the fender meets the bumper. The top two can be reached from up top, use an extension or two to get the ratchet out into the open by the battery/charcoal canister. The rest of the bumper bolts are fairly easy to find.
There is also a bolt on the bottom of the fender. It comes from underneith the car towards the out side. It's where the fender tucks under the car by the door. This area is usually bent though, from people not knowing how to jack the car up.

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
If you have trouble accessing the bolts between the fenders and the bumper, you can remove the whole front in one piece.

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
Like berlin305, toomany, and solargoldraptor said you are almost there. Don't forget the bolts on top, the one bolt on the botton of the fender by the door, and the four bolt that hold the bumper on. I see that you are an iroc-z do you have gfx on the car? you are going to have to remove the rocker panel and the bolts that hold the chin spoiler on to the fender. The rocker panel will have to be removed to get to the bottom fender bolt by the door. When you open the door there should be like 4-5 screws on the bottom door jam, and 6-7 screws underneath the car. You have to pull the the iroc emblem off and there is 2 screws behind that. After all that you should be good to take the fender off. Yeah I've gone though my fair share of fenders lol, and bumpers. If you need help PM me.

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
Thanks a lot guys! a guy from myspace groups did give me this picture, which was very helpful! He pointed out where the bolts were for the bumper, but if anybody has something similar like this picture that shows where the front bumper bolts are located that would be a HUGE help. The only thing ive got so far on the front bumper is that i have to take off the chin spoiler. I tried taking that chin spoiler off but there held on by these stupid *** snap-in bolts and i cant find a good way to get these off! maybe try the back of a hammer next??

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
Yeah that is where the bolt locations are, but the ones on the bumper to fender are nuts and can be a pain to get to. As for the chin spoiler there held in by those black push in clips? Are you trying to take the bumper off to?

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
OUCH. Hmmm looks like more than just a fender and bumper lol. Bummer... well uh like suggested you can take the 2 fenders and bumper off as one unit kind of like a horseshoe. I understand now what clips you are talking about they are push in style rivets the center part can be pulled out with a pair of needlenose pliers and it will all come out. It looks though you might have some frame damage. you might want to get it looked at by a bidy shop after you pull the damaged pieces off. Or do like my sig says if it do fit force it. Time for sledgehammer. Are you looking at the junkyards for replacement parts cause it looks like you need the headlight panel, the bumper, the chin spoiler, and a fender. Not to mention all the plastic pieces and headlights that go with it.

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
i actually did take it to a body shop, they said it was totaled. But i DID ask if there was ANY frame damage and they said No! which was a huge relief because when the insurance comes to look at my car and decides how much there going to give me, i will Most likely buy it back. Then i will be able to start and finish this Repair myself, and still have some extra money left over from the insurance. Maybe for a new paint job? or a new Short shifter!!

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
Definitely some damage around the battery tray and Radiator support too. You may need to cut off that corner area and weld in a new one. Maybe the frame stub is a little twisted but you might get away without working on that one.

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
i looked and im pretty sure the battery tray is still good, but i think the radiator support is bent, cause i drove it with the hood off and the radiator looked higher up on the left side. idk if thats normal or not but..yeah

You know you can start your own thread so you don't have to go back to ones that are a year... or SIX years old.
Just a thought.

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
most of your nuts will be hooked to the fenders there should be about five per side and there there 6 clips on the bottom also there are two 10 mm bolt in the center to the core support which will need to be removed to take out the head lamps with the bumper i just did this today took me like 30 mins to remove the front bumper
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly, as required.
- Remove bumper filler panel.
- Remove the fascia center bracket at the front end panel reinforcement.
- Disconnect all electrical equipment, such as headlamps, turn signals, horns, fog lamps, etc.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle.
- Remove the front bumper fascia extension.
- Remove the bolts from the bumper impact bar and radiator lower air baffle, if equipped.
- Remove the push-on retainers attaching the bumper fascia to the bumper impact bar.
- Lower the vehicle and remove the bolts attaching the outer brackets to the front end inner structure.
- With the aid of an assistant, remove the fascia carefully as not to scratch or damage the assembly.

- Raise and safely support the vehicle.
- Remove the lower fender bolts and inner wheel house panel.
- Remove the rocker panel molding.
- Remove the lower front end panel deflector-to-fender bolts.
- Remove the bolt from the support brace.
- Remove the front end bumper fascia-to-fender nuts and screws.
- Remove the hood hinge-to-fender bolts.
- Disconnect all electrical connections from horn, turn signal lamps, etc.
- Remove the fender by sliding rearward and outward, at rear, with the aid of an assistant. Place an old blanket over the fender as to avoid scratches or dents.

Good info there. It's about Firebirds but same logic applies.

Re: Bumper/Fender Removal help!!
agreed,i get **** for responding to old threads constantly but what does it matter if the information is pertinent to what im doing?
if the info was good ten years ago,its still frigging good and sometimes it would be cool to see what happened and if the issue
was actually resolved or not.
