don't really want to do this but my daily drivers steering box went today and i need a new car asap!!!

so up for a feeler is my baby, 1988 camaro 305v8 5.0L TBI (yea yea it's a L03) 5spd manual. 74k original miles. t-tops. immaculate paint! very clean all around, motor is VERY clean and still very young! newer clutch before it was stored.

now if interested, read along...

the catch is the car is not running, it RUNS... beautiful!! when you feed the TB directly. i replaced the fuel filter but it didn't change anything so i'm guessing (and according to alot of people on here) that the fuel has gelled up in the fuel tank from sitting for so long. the car is 100% complete, it's very clean. it's been garaged for the past 12 years. the car was bought from jake kapplins LTD (a higher end and very known dealer in RI) in 1995 with 60k miles on it... the car was used weekends and summers up untill 1998 when it was garaged (still has the 1997 inspection sticker on the windsheild)

the car was pulled out every few months and driven up untill 2000-2001... it's been sitting ever since untill last year. everythings good, everything works, it was kept in a garage which is heated in the winter. the car is VERY clean!

last year i tried to get it running, i replaced the fuel filter and everything. she turns over and runs for a second at most, then will stall and sound like it's out of gas... HOWEVER when you feed the TB directly, it'll run perfect!!! for however long you keep feeding gas to it. so it's a fuel delivery problem, most likely gelled up fuel in the lines or fuel tank... the fuel pump still primes and sounds strong.

I'd just like to see whats out there, either trade or sell out right. i'd love to keep it but honestly it's sitting in the garage doing nothing because i don't have the know how to get it going. it's very clean, body is perfect, paint is perfect. motor is very clean as well as the under carrage. interior is clean as well with normal ware.


ONLY THINGS WRONG WITH THIS CAR ARE....

**the fuel delivery problem as mentioned.
**the starter is starting to get weak and will definetly need a new one ASAP ($40)
and last, I have the door and t-top key, but it is broken, so you'd have to get one made for it! however i DO have 2 copys of the ignition key.


I have all paperwork for this car, previous registrations/insurance. even the original papers from the dealer back in 1995 saying the milage and price paid. i will give anyone the vin to car fax if interested, this car is truly all original and un molested/messed around with. everything mechanical still looks new,, well it is!!! 74k miles is new for a 20 year old car!

now for my asking price, i had the car on mautofied and was getting alot of offers but i declined them all because i love the car and really wanted to keep it. but now i need a new car because my daily driver died out on me soooooo i'm considering ALL and ANY OFFERS.

if someone comes and buys it this weekend i'll let it go really cheap, i need a car by the work week to get back and forth to work or atleast the money to fix my dialy to get back and forth to work.

Car is located in Warwick, RI. 02888 the car has a clean title. it's currantly held by the RI DMV being that the car is over 10 years old and in RI you only need the registration copy to register a 10+ year old car. all you do is fill out the paperwork and $28 fee and the title is mailed to you within 3-4 weeks, i will handle this or the buyer can, whoever. i have all other paperwork for the car! i will provide a link to the RI DMV website with this info if any questions.

well if it was running on it's own, i'd want a good $$$ for it just because of the milage and how clean it is.

but as it is, it's going to need to be towed/trailered, i mean unless you can get it running but i think you'd probably have to drop the tank.

if you come buy it this weekend i'll let it go really cheap because i need to pick up a new car for the work week, i have $$ for a new car but some extra money towards one would be great... or trade, for something running/driving that looks good!! milage and all is not of concern.

make me an offer via PM the worse i can do is say no, LOL but i'm very flexable so who knows i'll consider any serious offers. and your local which is even better, i don't want to have to deal with someone from accross the US lol. let me know what it's worth to you and we'll talk.

because i don't want to put a price thats too high and scare everyone away, or a price thats too low and end up getting nothing for it!!! put it this way, i'm not wanting alot for it, just enough to put towards another daily driver.

okay everyones asking for a price... i don't have a set price.. i do know if the car was running, it's worth $2,500-3,000 all day long, just because of the low milage, vehicle history and overall condition. however the car is not running (well it runs, but theres a fuel delivery problem somewhere, and it's going to need a starter)

Now this car is not a POS, not your dime a dozen beat up third gen camaro, it's clean... simply has a fuel clog from sitting for so long, bring your mechanic, bring whoever to come look at the car. it's not perfect, but it is nice! your pretty much looking at a car thats been out of the elements for the past 10 years.. 74k miles with the paperwork to prove it. how much more original would you like :-D LOL


I'm going to drop a price here, this price is not set nor is it firm, it's just a starting base.... we can work down from this number, how much lower?? whatever i get offered i will consider, as well as trades.

running it's worth $2500-3000 all day long, even if it is a L03. the milage is right and so is the condition. so i think a fair price to start and work down from would be....

$1,500.???? OBO, now don't let this scare anyone away,, i'm very very very flexable on the asking price! ONLY because i need the money for a new car...... this car needs at most a weekends worth of work to drop the tank and clean out all the old gas and put in a new starter. come look at the car in person, bring your tools, whatever you want. feed the throttle body directly and you'll see and hear she runs very nice. everything works, all lights, no decayed wires or any of that BS, this car was stored in a heated garage... not in a feild or under a tree somewhere like most cars that claim to have been sitting. i will give the vin number to anyone interested in running/carfaxing it. if it doesn't sell by the end of the weekend and theres no interest, i'm keeping it as i'm not going to give it away either. but right now, i need the money so this weekend only someone can haggle me down alot and walk away with a really nice and clean camaro that needs very very little, for very cheap!

if anyone feels this price is unfair, all i can say is make an offer that you think is more appropriate.... I may consider it. price is not firm. trades outright or trade+cash welcome! as long as it's not junk... because this isnt.

I have been trying to contact this guy for weeks now with no luck. Even if he did respond, 700 is an insult, and 300 is REALLY an insult for such a nice car. It's worth at least $1200. If he would reply to my messages I would be up there the next day!! I would definately not mind giving him 1200 for it.
