1990 IROC convertible 6800.00 OBO SOLD

Well it's time to sell, we have only put 5K miles on the car since buying it around 2004.
The car has 210K miles on it, yep , that's a lot. It doesn't look or drive like it though. I bought it from the 2nd owner who used it as a commuter car from Seattle to Portland trips several times a week. The original 305 bit the bullet at around 180K miles and it was swapped out for a GM crate 350. Soon after the 700R4 transmission was replaced. The car was repainted around 2000 and all the front lighting fixtures replaced.
The bad - the dash has a couple of wood screw holes from a custom **** pit cover, the rear bumper cover has a couple of eggshell cracks, the top is showing it's age, no holes / tears or leaks but isn't pristine. The carpet needs to be replaced as it's light grey and sun bleached as well as the rear seat side panel mouse fur. The tach doesn't function properly.
The good - the car looks great, sounds even better and drives well. It turns heads every time it's driven, top up or down.
it has the following factory options - instrumentation, CC, AC, PWR windows, locks, mirrors, brakes, steering, rear cover release for the top, POSI and power drivers seat.
I have added the following - SLP 1 3/4" headers / Y pipe, high flow cat, BORLA adjustable catback custom fit to the car, new SLP chrome 17" ZR1 rims / caps, new Michelin tires, 4th gen pleather trans am seats front and rear.
6800.00 OBO. Not interested in trades or shipping.

Lots of views but no responses? I don't think the asking price is to far out of line, let me know if you see anything that would make you think the asking price is to high. I can provide more detail if needed. The car is fun to drive and gets a lot of looks. I would really like to see a 3rd gen die hard pick this up. I had always planned on a LSx swap for it, but it in hindsight my 87 coupe would make way more sense for a serious HP increase. I say this but it would mean the SLP T-Ram would sit on a shelf in the garage.

Thanks man. It is a nice looking car, tried to show all views with the pictures. If I had a larger garage I would keep it. Not many clean convertibles around these parts and it has classic lines.

Topless is the way to go, I know you hear this alot, but honestly if I had that $$ I would have to fly and pick it up to drive it home.

One question about the top (just an observation really), is the top fabric not sitting all the way down to meet the body?

The top meets the body, but has a slight curl where it meets the door glass. I think that's there area you are asking about?

You nailed the big ticket items, through in a full tune up, new speakers, some wheel well paint, couple of weekends worth of color sanding and buffing paint, taillights etc. As mentioned, the stock rims ( good shape) and decent tires are included as well as the stock seats (good condition, just faded ), stock stereo, a car cover and some other miscellaneous stuff and the original owners manual.
I'm sure there are many more things that I have forgotten about. It has been parked in a garage since I have owned it, and from what I can see it was more than likely always garaged. WA state didn't start using salt on the roads until the late 2000's so there is no body rust.

There are two people interested in the car, hope to sell it to the guy from our forum.

WA 1990 IROC CONVERTIBLE 6800 OB0

its a shame you modified the iroc convertible only 2027 90camaro convertibles were built (per gm hobby division) 700+ were rs others were iroc or plain. no z28s I have one none modified rs with 72000 miles that is a driver and hagerty insured as agreed upon value for $20,000 until 2011 when I cancelled ins. and license. I think your price is probably low. Your is nice' I have production numbers for all Camaros from 1967 through part of 1992

Not a shame as I have the stock rims, seats and exhaust manifolds and will include them with the sale of the car. I didn't install the aftermarket head unit but the stock radio is in the trunk.

1990 convertible production numbers were really low but there really isn't much difference between the years. Stickers and a slight change in rims and interior doesn't make any year more valuable than another when it comes to 3rd gens. Not discounting the small changes year to year but it doesn't appear that it drives the value up. A clean convertible is hard to find period.

Your looks better than mine its been a driver sign my daughter gave back to me when she went to college in 95. Mine has normal parking lot dings and 69 Camaro rallys as original wheels warped from sitting so much.

Re: 1990 IROC convertible 6800.00 OBO

We didn't drive the car this year except around the block and a couple of short trips to the store. I washed it yesterday and cleaned the interior today and put tabs on it. I changed the oil last year and it has about 200 miles since. I put a hundred on it today and it runs and drives just like I remembered, nice. No hiccups, stumbles, starts right up, transmission shifts great, no noises coming from the engine compartment just that nice burble from the exhaust. When sitting and idling all you hear is the exhaust, no belt noises, squeal or rattle from the accessories, just that almost LS sounding burble from the exhaust.
While cleaning I noticed a couple of things that I hadn't before. The rear view mirror has 2 map lights with really small switches on the underside of the mirror and there are 3 cigarette lighters. The one in the dash is missing the trim ring and has fallen in to the dash, there is one on the drivers side of the console down low and another on the back side of the console. Were these added or stock?

A couple other observations as I rediscover the car, the convertible specific weather stripping is still pliable and soft, the non ASC GM stuff is getting brittle and drying out. Couple of examples of the GM non vert specific trim would be the door seals and door glass window trim. I wonder who ASC used to make the vert weather stripping? The hatch pull down still works like a champ and the light in the rear well is really bright. I thought the rear decklid was fiberglass but it's steel. The header latches for the top look like they had something stuck to them originally but mine just have the sticky goo left on them. Any idea what was covering them from the factory? There 4 or 5 convertible specific stickers in inconspicuous areas. The trunk lid, windshield header, drivers side sunshade and behind the rear license plate were where I found them.

I think the top is original and while it doesn't leak it is showing it's age. Several little wear spots from being folded up. Replacing the carpet would make the interior look great. The door panels are in really good condition but the carpet makes them look dated. The latch still works on the center console. The rear seat belts are just weird. The shoulder belts have to be manually be engaged with the lap belts.

I am being brutally honest with the car as I don't want some one to look at it in person and think I am miss representing it's condition. It is a really cool car that should be driven. If some one were to do a full restore the hard to find stuff is in good to great condition and there is no rust. This is a in between car, you could just drive it for another ten years and enjoy it and get a lot of attention or pull it apart and restore it. The upside of restoring it is that the wear items that are specific to a convertible are all there and in good shape.

I don't need to sell the car but have decided to move on.

Does the car currently have all it's emissions installed? Smog pump and such? A/C work? I am pretty interested in it.

I responded to your query via email. We still have the car as all things stop during fall and winter in the PNW except children's Basketball practice / games and the local NFL team kicking ****.....The car is still for sale just as the PM suggests. Give me or my wife Lisa a call. If Lisa answerers just ask for me, she isn't thrilled about parting with the car, LOL.

Yes, it has all the factory smog equipment in place and functioning. The car passes WA state sniffer tests and has current 2014 tags on the plates.
