'85 IROC-Z for sale
After 19 years of ownership I've decided to sell my '85 IROC!
It appears I will be losing my storage before too long so something has to go. The IROC hasn't been used much for the past few years so I'm testing the waters to see what the value might be.
I'm starting with a $6.900.00 asking price. I know there are a lot of third gens out there for half of that but 99% of those are not as solid or desireable as this one.
This car is an actual IROC with docs. to prove it. The # 50 yellow color is fairly rare . The combination of L-69 H.O. with 5-speed is hard to find.
Add to that a 99% rust free body and I think the price is in the ball park.

All mods to the car (145 speedo, grant wheel, 4th gen leaher seats, hood "blisters") can be returned to stock with the ourginal parts that I still have. The over-head console that I added has the working flashlight. The only original part I don't have is the 3:73 open differential which is long gone. It has been replaced with a 9 bolt b/w unit with 3:27 gears and PBR disc brakes. I even have the original water pump.
Current mileage is in the 135,*** range. the speedo head was changed from an 85mph to a 145 mph unit (still have the old unit which works well but maxes out easily) and the odometer wasn't adjusted for the difference.

I put the car in storage yesterday due to the weather forecast. They were right, it is snowing today. I hope my storage deal holds out until spring, I would hate to have to find a place for it in the middle of winter .

Rather than start a new post I will keep this one going. The IROC is out of storage and for sale again. Other than a low battery (I disconnected it) it fired right up. I will be posting some pics of the underside as soon as I can get it on my neighbors lift.

The car has sold. Went less than 30 miles from here. I'll probably see it at local shows.
The original interior (seats) steering wheel,hood louvers and probably a few other parts will be posted soon.
Sad to see it go but I hardly drove it in the last 3-4 years. the guy who bought it was really excited to get it so all is good.
