From my understanding and what I have heard from other people, they are not very common.

Re: how many 89 verts were made???
I have an 88 vert Iroc 5 speed ,on comp nine vin decoder it shows Rpo code MM5 as 1489 cars and its listed as 5 speed provisions as well as M39 710 cars with Borg Warner now I dont know if this applies to the convertibles or all T top cars CC1 which I have listed since t top cars were converted to factory convertibles such as what I have.
To me these numbers seem high for 88 convertible 5 speed Irocs,
Another interesting thing about my 5 speed Iroc it was built in 87 making it an early Iroc convertible which was owned by GM Canada for 1 year before going to a Toronto dealership.

Re: how many 89 verts were made???
Just a piece of general info . . . almost all vehicle manufactures start the a new model at some point in the previous year. My '89 was made in Sept '88 for example.
Regarding the 5spd . . . as stated, there are no numbers for specific option combos. At best, we can come up with a generality. Almost all 3rd gen Camaro years that offered the 5spd / auto choice, the ratio was roughly 20% / 80% for all model types. In '89, it was almost exactly that. So a crude guesstimate might be, of the 3940 IrocZ verts produced for the '89 model year, ~788 had the 5spd.
Again, this is only playing with numbers in order to only give us a rough idea.

Re: how many 89 verts were made???
anyone know how many of the 89s were marked as vert in the vin, and not labled as a ttop and then converted to a vert after leaving factory? i know they were all done by asc but i believe some were marked in vin as ttop (and the only way to get a 350) and some were marked as vert and only allowed the 305. i have the latter and wondering how many were produced in 89, or how i can find out? thaks.

Re: how many 89 verts were made???
If they were ordered from the factory as a convertible, they should be a "3". otherwise, it was a Owner(or perhaps Dealer) aftermarket conversion and not tracked by GM. ASC might know exactly how many 350 ttop conversions they did, but I dont expect them to provide that info to anone that calls.

Re: how many 89 verts were made???
A more general question....were all factory convertibles built at Van Nuys and then run over to ASC? In other words, did they ship any from Norwood for conversion?
