need help

ok, heres what I did. I connect orange to grey the fuel pump runs I get good pressure if I disconnect jumper and put in relay the pressure drops slightly, sometimes completely, if I shut the car off and restart some times the inline fuel gauge reads zero and after a few seconds slowly builds to 6.5psi.

I didn't have diagram last night but when I get home today im checking for 12v on red prime, org, and dk grn and wht. then checking for continuity on blk/wt b4 I try to start. with and w/o the key in start/run. I will report findings. then I will (dangerous) check for full 12v at rear **behind the backseat connector** while car is running and not running when it is supposed to be priming.

somewhere for some reason it is dropping voltage and only seems to be doing it while the relay is in. b/c while jumping to g port or from a to e on relay connector it seems to be running fine. If im missing something feel free to let me know..

edit: Mallory 4309, sum-g1710, sum-800115, Delphi fe0115 all from summit, no leaks. I would say maybe the reg needs rebuilding but all of this is about one year old.

Re: need help

Hard for me to follow what you are saying...but if you by-pass the oil pressure sending unit ..the car runs good? If so, check for a bad oil pressure sending unit (or minimal oil pressure)...

Re: need help

Ok, with the relay plugged in. I got prime(12v on green wireand a click on relay) , I got 12v on orange, I ohmed ground and between ground on connector and ground on batt I got a 12 on ohm meter. (I dont know what thAt means).

While.car is running I got 0v on grey. I checked fuse on fender fuse is good.

I jumped "g" on alcl and got nothing.

I jumped grey to batt. Fp was good.

I had to splice the wire connector on OPSU when I put v6 to 357 so thought that was problem so I disconnected Opsu and the entire plastic housing fell off in my hand. I think that MIGHT have something to do with it

Is that 0.12 or 12.0 or what? If it's 12, that means you have 12 ohms of resistance in that ground line. That's a lot. Before you ohm it, touch both leads of your ohm meter together. You should have zero or possibly 0.01 Is this reading from the ground wire opposite the Dk grn/ white on the coil side of the relay?

Re: need help

Ok I checked again for continuity etween ground on relay connector and battery. We good.

I checked resistance between ground on the relay connector and ground on battery with lowest ohms setting (0-200) on dmm. Last night I got 12ohms. Now this morning (with the broken Opsu disconnected) now I get .7ohms. I think the high reading was b/c of the opsu. Im on the way to church either today or tomorrow I will replace and log results
