Help with Tach
I have a 1988 trans am 5.7. I am going with a carb conversion and I installed a HEI distributor. Now I know how to hook up a standard tach via the tach wire on the distributor marked "tach". Ok, now here's the issue. I want to keep the stock tach. Will the stock tach just work or do I need to hook up an additional wire or something?

Re: Help with Tach
Ok so I just did a search. I came up with this from another thread.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...ooking-up.html
I no longer have the ECM in the vehicle. Would I take the white wire from the harness and run the wire to the "tach" on the distributor? If so, that is easy.

Re: Help with Tach
after further looking at the diagram I see that it is the white wire on the intrument cluster connector. Is this correct?
