ALCL connector for SES light

Hi All,
In the service manual for my 1986 Camaro demonstrate the picture below. However, my ALCL connector( other picture) does not resemble the picture in the manual. Is the diagnostic terminal (B) and the ground (A) still the same location for both.

The problem I am having is the SES light is on at all times; never goes off.
Thus, I am trying to ground the B terminal so I can get a code.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks. So I grounded a and b, and got no blinking/codes. Something wrong with connector?

Ignition off, insert a jumper wire between A and B. Turn ignition to run, and the light should flash 12 three times before flashing any stored codes. If it doesnt, you're doing something wrong, or the computer isn't working.

Is that under the dash just to the right of the steering column? Doesn't look like you're in the right place...

The picture definitely shows the diagnostic port. Depending on the year, the port is in different locations. Early cars have it to the right of the column, 90-92 have it next to the fuse block on the left.

OOPS, you're right, on my 92 it is to the left of the column. I guess his pic made it look like it was in the dash rather than under it...

Yes is right next to the steering column.
I just jumped A and B with paper clip as described above. The light did not blink. I just had my engine swab to a 350. I Did light test and did not do anything. I wonder if the mechanic disconnected the port or screw up the computer.

After all, the ECM fuse was blown. Now, working like a charm...
