Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!

Next Monday night. Two hour special on Discovery from 9-11 pm. Can't wait to see what Gas Monkey does with this one. Just thought I'd post this in case anyone on the forum didn't know about it and might want to watch. Big fan of the show when I was a kid. In fact, it's what got me interested in thirdgens, and I have been ever since. I still have all 4 seasons on DVD. LOL

Here is a Video I found that someone posted on the Facebook link on KnighRiderOnline.com....

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=647802531997514

Basically, their Finale show is something like the Bandit Car Replica show they did, only with KITT and David Hasselhoff.

I hate these guys now! They're a little arrogant, and now they're building my Favorite Car growing up as a Kid and getting to meet The Hoff himself.

I've never met David unfortunately, But My Dad did a few years ago, and he got me David's autograph signed to Jerry

LOL I saw it a few minutes ago. Flipping back and forth between MNF. I've known about it for a couple weeks, but didn't know the time for sure til tonight. Have always liked Knight Rider, I think it would have lasted longer if the writing was better. Didn't notice that as much when I was 12, but being an adult I see it more now.

Re: Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!

I wish Fast N' Loud would focus more on the nuts and bolts of technique and building. A little too much fluff, but I still like the show. Richard is funny to watch on tv, but if you had to work around him every day you'd probably kill him outright. I know I would probably.....

Yup.

They'll probably just show a couple little things like buying a car that's already mostly done. Do the scanner, some wiring for the Dash. And it's a show after all, so they'll try to make it seem exciting, they're having Richards wealthy friend (the same one that had him build the bandit car) come into his office and offer him 200 grand to build him The KITT car with David's Signature on it.

And then at the end of the show they'll do their donuts in it and abuse it while Richard goes Woohoo! with the texas horns finger signs, I personally find that annoying and a little arrogant like he takes himself too seriously.

Nevermind the Fact that KITT is a Cali car LOL

Hell I'm still gonna watch it. I'm a good Critic so I'm gonna be scanning for any Errors and Wrong (Not Show Correct parts) that I can find, that they mistakenly put on KITT

I doubt they'll build it 100% Show correct to the last little Detail. Whether it's the Season 2 car or the Season 3 1 tv dash. they might use the wrong push buttons or something.

Yup, after all it's a show, so much for the Bologna line about the Car being for Richard's wealthy friends birthday, that's all part of the Show Drama.

Hey DC Dave I remember watching that Video of yours on YouTube of your KITT and thinking it was 1 of the best I've ever seen The Flowmaster on it gave it a nice rumble. You still have it?

Re: Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!

Also a tip for you guys, if you didn't know about it, I just started Recording a new Tv Series that started yesterday about a guy that builds famous movie and tv cars, it's his passion, maybe you've heard of him.

His name is Robert Moseley but people just call him Video Bob he has a shop in Texas called Bob's Propshop.

He builds movie & tv car replicas, it's his passion, He's built Back to The Future Time Machine Deloreans, Ghostbuster Ecto 1, Scarface Yellow Cadillac, and even KITT Replicas for Customers who want one built.

Here is the video he has on Youtube of a KITT replica he built and sent off to the new owner:

Anyway now he's got his own tv show, where WE the viewers can see him build all kinds of famous movie and tv cars and he's going to Build a KITT replica this coming Tuesday, so I figured I'd tell you KITT fans and maybe you can tivo or DVR it and check it out after watching the Fast N Loud KITT episode on Sunday, I know I will.

The show is called "Screen Machines" and on my Cable provider, (I have AT&T U-Verse with 450+ channels and on my end) the Channel where the show comes on is called REELZ and it's channel number 799 and on Tuesday the 9th at 8pm Pacific time, they'll show the new episode where they build a KITT replica, the Episode is called "Knight Rider Two Thousand" I think this will FAR much better explained and shown than the Gas Monkey drama version

Just a Heads up for Knight Rider Fans

You can say that

Few years ago I shipped him a 82 t/a fender to Dallas and he didn't want to pay much so I sold him one that needed work it went Greyhound and he flipped out and was cursing at me on the phone cause the fender wasn't that nice demanding a $100 refund and that the bus station was a in a "bad area" then he was yapping about just being divorced
Gee I wonder how that happened

I talked with others in the knight rider/BTTF hobby and they didnt have nice things to say about him either !!!

Here's the last email he sent me lol

Hmmm.... I had hoped it would have been a good experience, he seems like a legit guy, wasn't expecting any horror stories or bad experiences

In this show he's married to someone that looks like she walked out from the Adams Family.

I heard something about the guy who played Elmo, but I don't remember I might not wanna.

fortunately I've never met your modern burnout "reality tv" stars, like your Kardashian or Duck Dynasty or Jersey Shore ppl. The Stars I've met were the older fashioned legit ones. Not the drugged version.

Re: Knight Rider build next week on Fast N' Loud!

I need to check this episode out.

Ive heard the same thing about BOB IS THE PROP GUY from a client of ours at work. Who went out to dinner with Him to talk about acquiring a few cars. Needless to say They didn't get them from Him and have picked up over a Dozen from us.

We have a KITT im finishing up soon as the dash electronics come in.
We have a handful of "MOVIE CARS"

2 - Bat-mobiles ,2 - Scooby Doo Mystery Machines , 3 - Herbie the love bugs , 1 - Back To the Future delorean , 1 - baracade Mustang from Transformers , 1 - Mater from cars , 1 - Beverly hillbillies , 1- Star wars land speeder , 1 Green hornet Imperial , 1 Ghost busters car.

These movie cars need a lot of work to get them upto OUR SHOP standards to sell to collectors. Deff. a lot of smoke and mirrors

OK BACK on 3rd Gen topic
We also have a 7k mile 1985 TA in our show room.

I'd like to see more props to The A-Team van, that was a cool tv vehicle too, but you rarely ever see one. The General Lee is another favorite, I have that in 1/18 scale at least. LOL

Impressive. You guys got a website? I'll be looking for a Good quality Shop in the future with Big Standards for builds that's no smoke and mirrors, to get my KITT and KARR replica's built the Right Way with no expense spared down to the last insignificant detail.

And so I think the two main reason why people like it, who aren't from Georgia or Bama, is 1. The Car and 2. Daisy Duke

IDK, something's not right. Here are the pre-show sneak peek pics of the Gas Monkey KITT. Right away I see the front bumper is not right, and KITT had some kind of an apparatus under the bumper too, looked like some kind of sway bar or something. It also doensnt look like it has the right stance, maybe I'm being too critical, but something isn't right. It's also an 85, and KITT was an 82....

So Bob's Prop did the A Team van then? LOL I'd settle for a 1/18 scale right now..... But I've got news for him, the wheels are wrong. The van in the show had staggered rims, the back were much bigger than the front, and it looks like these tires are a little higher profile. BA's van also had lettered tires. How could they miss all that? But man, Benedict REALLY needs to cut that hair. Dude, that looks awful.....But a very cool video, thx for posting!

Bob's front bumper on KITT doesn't look right either. Looks like it's turned downward way more than the original, and the lines don't match up. Er, I should say it at least looks that way in the one where he's standing next to it. The other pics look solid.

Yeah they make a few aftermarket bumpers than are longer than "Show Correct Length" and not the "Show Correct" bumper.

That's why not all Replicas are 100% correct. It's details like that, that only die hard nerds of the show can clearly tell when something is correct and when it's off, that others might no be able to distinguish or they can but it's meaningless to them.

The bar under KITT's nose was a tow bar connector for scenes where no one was driving IIRC. Someone on this board did a KITT a few years ago and it was the first one I've seen that had it.

That makes sense about the tow bar. But the Gas Monkey car didn't look right in fog the light area either. Looked like the tolerances around the lights were wrong, like it needed some kind of trim, or a smaller opening. IDK.

From the pics of the car on the website, the car is not in that great of shape, but with the right enthusiast, it could be built into something nice. It will take a lot of work but I am going for it and willing to put in the work to build it right.

He let the snake crush him for an hour. By the time it got around to eating him, he had to tap out, and I don't think that snake could have gotten it's mouth around him anyway. But I've been wondering how they were going to get him out of there if the snake DID swallow him? Would they not have had to kill the snake? I don't see any other way, which is what tells me this was never intended to be a full "eaten" anything. Discovery is getting a bad rep for making fake shows and documentaries--a very bad idea for a channel like that. Jungle Gold, Mermaid: Body Found, and Megashark. All fake.

I missed Fast n Loud KITT last night, but I caught that Eaten Alive Anaconda show, he tapped out NOT because of the suit because it actually held even though he was tight, It was the pressure on his arm, he turned in a way where the whole pressure and weight of the snake tightening up got to his arm and he started feeling light headed, cutting off blood to his head. thus he had to tap out.

But on the HD channel 1120 I'm recording the Fast N loud KITT right now. I won't let it get away from me again I'll watch it after the Packers/Falcon games over.

Yeah, he tapped out because of the arm. I watched most of it too. What I don't get is how they were going to get him out without killing the snake if it did happen to swallow him, suit or not. But what they're showing tonight on Fast N Loud is both parts, it's a two hour deal, wasn't on last night.

This is BS. I don't believe for a second they snuck into Hoff's dressing room. Hoff seems pretty hard nosed when he's sober.

2 part deal sounds good.

Yeah, I thought about that, maybe if the snake started eating him they'd stop it. Even though he had an oxygen mask.

And the suit was supposed to repel the acid in the snake's stomach that would break him apart in order to digest him.

They probably never planned to let it go that far, again it's mostly drama. So they just let it squeeze him for a bit and bite his helmet in order to get a reading on the pressure per inch it was applying to get a measure on it's Choking/Kill power. I remember something about 78 pounds per inch.

Personally, I love wildlife and animals, but not when they're a menace and a danger, and I don't see the need for a 20+ foot Anaconda. That's just a Ridiculous huge and heavy monster loose in the Jungle. In the commercials it took like 10 guys just to lift and carry it.

I would have cut it into Sushi with my sword or cook it with a Flamethrower.

Gees, they totally screwed up the tail lights. KITT's tail lights did NOT look like that, that looks ridiculous. Why were they so worried about not seeing the louvres? You could see them on KITT!

Just saw that, yup, those guys have a total lack of respect for KITT and the work involved. They'll just take the easy route every time, they fabricated a metal piece to put over it with holes for the bulbs instead of having the taillight louvers. WTF? A-Holes!

Watching these episodes was a huge waste of time. Hour and a half so far and all they did was screw up the tail lights, bitch about electronics and recover the seats. That customer could have bought a perfect KITT for under $30,000.
