4th gen tank plumbing questions
I bought a 4th gen tank for my LS1 swap and Im trying to figure out what fittings to buy to run the fuel lines. Auto zone and oreillys dont carry the metal efi connectors for the tank fittings. I think I could use ones made by russel for -6 AN but thst seems like a pretty expensive way to go. I've read a couple of the older threads on this. I was wondering if anyone has come up with any different solutions.

Re: 4th gen tank plumbing questions
No kidding. To redo the entire system is over $250 not including any hardlines using Russell parts from Summit. Granted the way I figured that was to mimic the OEM routing as much as possible with flexlines at the axle. I've got an LS1/T56 and tank going in this winter. Only thing I'm not sure about is using an LS1 camaro filter or stay with the thirdgen filter.

I've never really messed with -AN fittings before and not sure if some of them can be eliminated. I assume the tube nuts with a flare is a more proper way to do it than with compression fittings. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: 4th gen tank plumbing questions
You can remove the T fitting by using a 'vette filter, it has one in, one out to the rail and the other out is back to the tank.
Using braided hose all the way up to the rail also eliminates a bunch of expensive fittings... And it's simpler to route.
Don't be worried about fabricating braided hoses/fittings. Some good masking tape, a high tooth count hack saw and a vice are really all you need.

Re: 4th gen tank plumbing questions
Just so you know, you can use the nylon tubing for fuel lines. That's my plan. In areas where you think there might be rubbing, just slide some rubber hose over the tubing. It's how they did it in the factory. The nylon tubing is cheaper than steel lines and much easier to work with. Jeggs and Sumitt carry 10 foot rolls and 25 foot rolls. You can buy connectors at the parts stores. Take a look at you tube on how to use the stuff. I'm not going 4 wheeling so nylon tubing will be fine. Okay, flame suit is on. :-)
