Help Me With My Front End
Already posted this on the bullet, posting here to get a bit more exposure and since it's vehicle specific it can only help.
I'm having trouble setting up the front end in my 1989 Camaro and was hoping I could get some input before I do anything drastic.
The entire front end is 'Double AA Performance', K member, a arms, 2" drop spindles, cc plates, etc etc. Got everything bolted up and the a arms level simulating ride height. I just can't get the positive camber (top of wheel out more than bottom) out of the thing without threading the rod ends almost completely out of the A - Arms. I'm talking like only 4 threads of engagement AND the cc plates at full adjust. So i called Attilio at double AA letting him know i some how got some bodys shortened A-Arms. After talking for a bit and going over the car he tells me he doesn't even make shortened A-Arms for 3rd gen Camaros. I have him measure a set of arms he has at his shop, BEFORE i tell him the length of mine , and not only does he take a picture holding a tape they're exactly the same length as the ones i have!!!! Attilio offered to make me longer A-Arms so that's not the gripe. I'm now starting to think it's some type of user error since these are supposedly the same length arms everyone recieves but I can't for the life of me figure out where I went wrong. Everything is leading me back to the arms just being too short. Cars never been in an accident and it's the same on both sides.
Help!!!! Anybody running the same set up i'd much appreciate your input, even if you're not running the same set up and just smarter than me I'll listen to you too
Thanks in advance guys!!!

Have you measured the stock a arms? compare every stock measurement to aftermarket. You definitely want more that 4 threads screwed in for strength. Are you dragging this car or what? Ive read some crazy threads about k-members and a-arms.....vs stock.... I was thinking about making the switch but after reading some threads,i am sticking stock. (but thats me) So yeah, Id measure everything and go from there. Also Im surprised no one has posted anything. there are a lot of members who know a lot more about this than i do... good luck man!

Re: Help Me With My Front End
First thought, they don't exist, called around and we're talking 500 piece minimum order lol
Like i said, dude said to mail the arms back to him and he can extend them so "fixing" it is not the issue. I want to know how everybody elses arm is the same length as mine and i'm the only one that has this issue. If that truley is the case i'm doing something wrong on my end, still waiting on somebody to tell me how i'm messing this up exactly. No point in sending them back if i'm the one making the error, hope that makes sense.

Re: Help Me With My Front End
we had this problem in my friends 88 z28....we measure against my 90 gta and everything match up except the shock towers...mine where 1 3/4'' inward more than the z28...I guess yours might have same issue...I came across quite few 3rd gen's where shock towers aren't in same location as others.

Re: Help Me With My Front End
lol that'd be crazy, something i'd actually have to see to believe (not doubting you, just have never measured any others). Sent aa performance an email yesterday letting them know the arms would be on their door step today. Signed for today, no return email...guess we'll see.
I was like wtf...
I think we measure like 6 times...and the shock tower holes on his 88z28 was different than mine.( I bet on mine I could of have got away using more camber than him)
also on my cousins 86 formula when we converted to coil over in the front..on the left side we could barely get -0.4 camber otherwise spring would get hung over the hole in the shock tower, where in the right side we got -2.5 camber without any issues, shows no consistency on the body/frame panels.
I guess I should been lil more clear the shock towers where close but the holes where strut mounts to where in different location from one car to the other.
this cars where slap together in a hurry.
I suggest you measure yours and few other to compare you might be surprise
