Gotcha very nice how about ur ground clearence on the down pipe? I ask becucause im thinking of mounting my turbo in the area were the coolant tank was and running my up the way u ran ur down pipe. My turbo would face the same way as urs. And down pipe would go str8 out the fender.ive already trimmed the wheel wells and test fit it the turbo would fit there.

No ground clearence problems on the down pipe. Should be plenty of room to put a couple 2.5" pipes up there. Sounds like a cool build man.

Re: 86 Ta 383 s475 build
Been pretty much done with the car for a couple months now. Been driving it alot lately getting the bugs worked out of it. I had some problems with the motor, had to replace all 8 intake valves. The valve lash would close up on the intakes after about 50 miles of street driving. I backed them off once and readjusted but they were closing up again so I tore it down. Got that fixed and all is well after that. I had the boost set at 10 lbs for awhile on pump gas with no meth till I got the carb dialed in. I turned it up to 15 lbs with the meth kit and that really woke it up. My speedo doesn't work so I have a gps app on my phone and it will burn the tires from a 60 roll on the highway easy. The 84mm wheel makes a ton more power than the 75 did. Im gonna get some drag radials for the back and try to get to the track before it closes in november. I'm hoping for some 9 sec slips on 15 lbs and pumpgas/meth. This winter I'm gonna get some drag wheels and tires and turn it up some more. Here's some pics of the interior all done except the headliner still need to get that finished up. Pretty happy with the way it turned out and how it's running.

Re: 86 Ta 383 s475 build
Thanks jay. What made you want to swap a six speed in your car?
I decided to get some champion wheels this winter. Gonna get some 15×10s not sure on the backspace yet. Mr rear is narrowed 1" on each side so I'm gonna measure some up. Tossing around the idea of mini tubbing it to get a 295 on the back and still tuck and sit lower.

Very nice work bro. Good to c someone staying with the gen 1 blocks also and not just turboing an ls. Nothing against ls just cool to c it done the same way i want to.

And as far as the rear ends go. I ordered a moser with 4 gen brakes but i think they sent me a 4th gen rear. Cuz i have a 6.5 bs and still poke. But its not terrible so im ok with it.

Re: 86 Ta 383 s475 build
Thanks man. Ls swaps are cool but I already had all the Gen 1 parts and I know them like the back of my hand. I'm definantly gonna be pushing the limits of the block but lots of guys have gone fast with stock block sbc stuff and I hope to be one of them. I'm gonna keep the tune on the conservative side and not push the timing to much. I plan to turn the boost up to 25+lbs and see what happens, it's either gonna live or not. A dart block build is in my future plans. The 4th gen rears are 1in wider than stock 3rd Gen I think, my rear is 1in shorter on each side than a stock third gen so I don't know where that puts me with backspace without measuring.

Re: 86 Ta 383 s475 build
Honestly just the fun factor, car has been together and running for 2 years, never have time for the track. Pretty well just drive it to work and to random shows so I wanted the fun back in the car. I know it will be slower and less reliable when at higher HP levels but meh.
