You could also try to use a tap and thread the hole to fit a different size bolt. Is it completely stripped or just the first part of the threads stripped ?

The stock hole in the crank is 7/16" x 20
The next size bolt is 1/2" x 20
First try to tap the existing hole with the 7/16" tap. Make sure that the bolt has clean threads.
If the threads are too buggered up, then tap with 1/2" x 20 and buy a larger bolt. Also any of the 7/16" threads will help guide the 1/2" tap.
