is there a fix for low fuel level stalling?

when I get down to about 3 gallons of gas, my 89 2.8 firebird will stall sometimes when turning.
I did a search here and it looks like to be a common problem on the fuel injected third gens.
so other than the obvious (keep more than 3-4 gallons of gas in it, lol)....is there any type of fix I can do while I currently have my fuel tank removed?
I removed the tank to fix a leak (cracked at the filler neck).

what about slightly tweaking the fuel pump hangar so it is lower? or is it already pretty much bottomed out in the tank?
It still has the plastic baffles inside the tank and everything looks to be in excellent shape inside there.

thanks!

I was going to say the baffels but if they look good! I always keep mine above half. Good for the pump and since my baffels are bad the gauge isn't too accurate lol

the fix is to keep your tank more than half full. unfortunately. that's the only fix for this issue

Find a tank from an 88 and up that are baffled or do the 4th gen tank swap.

Fuel cools the pump, do not run it low or you will be buying a new one.

Re: is there a fix for low fuel level stalling?

I've been doing some searching on here on the differant tank baffles pontiac put in these cars and I can't find anything set in stone.
I read that the 90-92's had the best baffles, the tta's had better baffles, and that some 350 cars had the better baffles.
It's something I can deal with, I just figure it wouldn't hurt to ask while my tank is out.
here is a pic of the plastic baffle in my tank. was this one the latest and greatest?
