Vortec heads rocker arms
Good day,
Im busy upgrading my stock 350, going for a pair of remanufactured Vortec 062 heads.
Comp Cams Xtreme Energy Cam 218int/224ext and hydraulic flat tapped lifters.
Now im looking for the rocker arms and push rods, The Vortec heads use self aligning rocker arms, what type do u use on your vortec heads? 1.5 ratio should clear under the stock valve covers? can i still use the stock push rods

Factory stamped? Roller tip? Or full roller (roller tip and trunion)? The first two will fit under the stock valve covers. The full roller/roller trunion makes those rockers wider and causes interference with stock, centerbolt valve covers. Frequently, trimming the centerbolt tube supports will provide enough clearance.
Any of those can be had in SA (Self Aligning) or not.
The stock push rods will probably work. As always, measure to see what works for your engine combination.

Check your push rod length when you put the motor together. You might be able to reuse your old ones but will have to check after you put your heads on. I am using the factory vortec rockers on mine with some jegs one piece push rods I had left over from my last project.

Sounds like a mild performance build. I'd just get a set of stamped steel self-aligning rockers and call it good. They're the same rockers they've been putting on SBC heads since about 87 when the factory moved to centbolt valve cover-style heads. They work, they're reliable and they're dirt cheap. You could even steal a set off a junkyard motor for practically nothing if your budget is very tight. They basically never wear out if the owner changed the oil from time to time.
And you know for sure they'll fit under the valve covers.
Yes, you can reuse your stock (flat tappet length) factory pushrods.

Re: Vortec heads rocker arms
If you want stock SA rocker arms, I do have a brand new, un-fired, set I took of the Vortec crate engine I have.
