Smog Pump delete 88 T.P.I. IROC Vert
I am doing my research on deleting my smog pump that locked up and has engine making whinning sound. I was told I could remove the pully and just change the serp belt. I will eventually change the pump (keeping stock look) but not right now. I don't want the delete pully if I can just change belts.
My question is what exact belt part number do I need for my particular engine? Dayco 968K6 or 935K6. Also which belt routing method?

My smog pump seized on my TA and our pulley layout appears to be the same. But no matter how I would position the belt it appears that the pulley of the smog pump will be in the way of the route. Could you post pictures of your success story? Please and thank you.

If I just remove the pulley for the time being would that do the trick?

Iirc loosen the pulley bolts with the belt on 10mm I believe .
I think there are two bolts holding the pump to the bracket torx 40 or 13 or 15mm.
I think you will need to unbolt the diverter valve 2, 10mm bolts. And 2 electrical connectors.
Remove the air hoses and cap off or remove the exhaust air tubes and plug the holes with 1/4 not plugs will work although they are inverted flare. You can purchase inverted flare plugs. The air pipes are more than likely corroded into the manifolds. Pub blaster and a line wince will assist.
