Input on running 7.0s
So I really would like to finish putting my car together and get it quick enough for some 7.0 1/8 mile index racing. I am doing an LS swap, I have a LQ4 stock engine, a set of 5.3 heads that are going to Llyod Elliot portworks this week to be ported and have larger valves installed, and he has specd out a cam for my stock bottom end LQ4 5.3 combo that is 227/235 .615/.626 111 LSA cam. Toping it off is a Fast 90mm intake and throttle body. exhaling through 1 3/4 stainless works headers into a y pipe that will have a cutout at the y junction. Trans is a built 4l60e with 4k circle d stall. Rear end is 10bolt with 3.73 gears until I can get a 9 inch in a couple months. Fiberglass hood 1LE car, full interior. How far from 7.0s do you think she will be. I will still need some more supporting suspension mods but do you think the power will be there to hit 7.0s with this engine combo? Any recommendations on a different cam or anyone have a link to a documented LQ4/5.3 head build making enough power to get to 7.0? Id prefer to make it without having to change the pistons to gain more compression right now. Any logical opinion is welcome. Thanks.

Re: Input on running 7.0s
It should go lower 7's if the heads are well ported and car is set up properly. I personally would go more cam duration and turn it alittle harder to make sure its got the muscle. 7.0 is close to high 10's 1/4. Mid High 400's whp typically needed to get there at 3450 lbs typical
