measuring fuel volume on a TPI motor
recently , i have begun to suspect i might have a fuel volume issue . my FSM makes no mention of how to check this , so how is it done ?? my pressure is correct, but i would like to check to see if i have enough volume

A 305 TPI with stock 19 lb/hr injectors can burn no more than 0.42 gallons per minute. If the pump can deliver at least one pint in 15 seconds it is more than enough flow.

Re: measuring fuel volume on a TPI motor
thanks Mr vader , any idea on how one goes about checking volume ? are those figures regulated or not ?

Re: measuring fuel volume on a TPI motor
Obviously, the engine operates with the rails under pressure and the pump must be able to deliver adequate flow (almost 1/2 GPM) at pressure.
Removing the fuel return line at a convenient place and routing it to a graduated cylinder, measuring cup, catch can or other suitable receptacle will allow you to measure volume over time at rail pressure. The fuel pump will have to be powered up without the engine running for whatever test period you choose.
