Re: Cold Starting issues

I've been battling the same thing. No resolve still after swapping the entire fuel and ignition system.

Subbed as hopefully someone will have some ideas.

Re: Cold Starting issues

I am still having the issue starting when cold, what I do not understand is that in the winter I go out to garage and start the car and it fires first crank, really quickly, and its darn cold out, now its 70 out and damn thing wont start right

on another side I have located my OBDI cable, is there something I can look at, is there a guide that explains what stock values should be for various sensors?

as always, many thanks

Re: Cold Starting issues

Where did you get your first chip? I bought mine from TPIparts.com and it made the car run terribly. I put on a 9th injector block off plate, new injectors, new gaskets, rebuilt fpr, and it still took so many tries to even get it to hold an idle.

I'm now pulling the engine out because I got tired of wasting money on the 305 when I've wanted to put a 383 in it since day one.

Re: Cold Starting issues

The chip adapter I purchased was from tpiparts.net

should I look for a 89 chip instead of the adapter? is it to do with the removal of the 9th injector? but it has this problem when the air temp is 70-75 but in winter when i start it in garage it is 10-30 out it starts no issue

yeah I meant to say chip adapter. What it does is change the early style "85-88" Cold start with the 9th injector to the later style which just dumps more gas through all the injectors. If I was to stick with TPI I would probably track down a chip instead of the adapter and give that a shot
