Shift kit Advice Please for a 1988 Corvette 700R4

Hi All,

I was wonder if I can get some advice please? I have a 88 Vette 700R4 102K Miles. I was planning on rebuilding my Trans but there is not really a need for it so I was going to hook up a shift kit first. The tran is in pretty good shape fuild is always clean and flushed once a year.

Can you help answer these question?

1.) I'd like to have this shift hard and do all that I can without taking out the entire Trans. What kit would I get?

2.) Best shift kit for the money? I was thinking Transgo?

3.) Do I need a accumlator spring too?

4.) Is there a list of recommended parts while I'm aready going in it.

5.) It's been about 12 years since I've rebuilt a trans but I've never done a shift kit how many hours does it take? I'm going to do a search for a wright up on a shift kit too.

I really appresate all your help with this.

the jet servo for the band is great. feels firmer than most shift kits. a real shift kit does more than just firm up the shifts. the servo can be changed in the vehicle. I like the jet because it firms up second and third nicely.... Just pop the snapring on the servo cover, pull the cover out some with a pair of pliers and remove the seal (it's blue and difficult to remove, normally cut it and spin the cover during pulling). now the servo can be pulled out and changed out. The nice thing about the jet servo is the simplicity in the instructions and the shift quality. If you jack the vehicle up from the passenger side hardly any oil if any will spill out!!!!! So easy-so nice-not too expensive and more bang for your buck...
