auto to manual

Ok so I 1st bought a 87 2.8 firebird manual but the frame is junk. After that I was given a 88 firebird with a 350 auto in it. OK now this is where I start with my questions and problems. I would love the 350 but motor is now junk and the firebird that it came from is better then my 87 v6. So I pulled the motor and auto trans out of the 88 and want to put in my v6 and manual trans into the 88. Well here is anther good part (I think) the 88 with the v8 was never fully a v8 car. All the person I got the car from did was put in the motor mounts and the v8 motor he never messed with computer and the 88 was a 2.8 like my 87. So that should be one less step I have to do is mess with computer. So with that long rant out of the way I'm looking for step by step what I need to do to put my v6 manual into the body of a auto car? Keep in mind I have a full parts car for taking parts from so I should not have to be going down to parts store to get many if any parts.

Re: auto to manual

Google is your friend. And if you don't think you'll be making any trips to the parts store you have obviously not spent much time working on cars...

Re: auto to manual

well of course I know I will have to make trips to the parts store, but I'm hoping that many of the parts I need can just be taken off my other car. Yea google works but I'm working on a Firebird not a dodge, ford and kia...or whatever car they have posted for the swap. I was hoping to get help from other people with the same car. Yea a lot of the steps are the same but also a lot of steps are not. All I asked for what are the steps a-z I need to take.

If you know what to google and use the right key words you'll find what you want. Probably not a step by step, but there are plenty of threads on here detailing out an auto to manual swap that aren't hard to find.

As far as putting a V6 back in, who knows what wiring got hacked, so your going to have to figure out what's missing and go from there.
