Little shake, backfire, runs good when warm
He Guys,
I need some input on a small problem I'm having.
I have a Fbody 91, V6 3.1. Bought a few months ago, changed several parts
Plugs & Wires, Distr. Cap, Rotor, CTS & Cable, Swapped the old injectors with Cleaned ones, bought at Southbay. After changing the injectors the car has been running great. When reving instant pickup, when punching the gaspedal, dito. just great.
Now I have this issue and I need some directions.
The car starts, no problems. When I rev the car, it doesn't pickup that well and if I rev it "properly" you'll here a "plop" sound after releasing the pedal. No backfire, more of a "vroooooeeemmmmmm....plop" from the exhaust. Also the engine shakes more then before...
When I'm driving and accelerate the car starts to shake and it feels the engine has a little bit of hard time getting the power to the road.
I want to do the following for troubleshooting
- Start engine and check if a cilinder isn't working
- Vacuumleak > I want to test if I have a vacuumleak
- Check bolts and nuts
- Check EGR > There;s a resin on one side, i assume to airtight the valve to the EGR intake
Does anybody have tips or extra pointers?
thanks

Re: Little shake, backfire, runs good when warm - SOLVED
The donutgasket at the driversside exhaust manifold need to be replaced
and my EGR valve was leaking a little bit. Not on the gasket, but the valve it self.
Replaced both and now everything is perfect!
