Made a few dyno pulls...

I made a few pulls on the dyno, and figured I would share some preliminary results. Our first pulls were on motor only to set the base VE tables.

495 rwhp @ 8200rpm this is a s/c motor with low compression

After a few motor pulls, we put the belt on the s/c and made a few attempts to get a reading. We could not get the motor over 6200rpm without loosing the blower belt. I will say it did feel strong when it would flash the converter and start making some boost!

872 rwhp @ 6200rpm this was with 12psi and lost the belt way before our 8500rpm projected rpm limit.

We'll get the belt situation sorted out soon, and be back on the dyno in a few weeks. I'll post an update then.

400ci Little-M
Crower billet crankshaft
Crower billet rods
Custom CP Pistons
Good heads and intake
Vortech X-Trim
TH-400
12 bolt
And a few other misc parts to make it run

Sorry Guido but.....
I am selling a set of 8- 83 lb/hr injectors. These have only 10 dyno pulls and 3 passes since being cleaned, serviced, and flow matched. I had to upgrade to 160's while on the dyno, and no longer need these. Trying to recoop some of the money spent on the 160 pounders, $450.00 or best offer.

Dustin Mustangs....
Where to start, the valvetrain starts with a custom solid roller camshaft. I had the block machined with the lifter bores moved and bushed. I am using a Crower severe duty solid roller with the .903 wheel. 7/16 pushrods on exhaust, 3/8 on intake.
Jesel Competition series rocker arms. Titanium intake valves and
top secret exhaust valves.
I am running the FAST system.
I hope that answers your questions.

bbunting,
I will upgrade my sig when the final numbers are in

when the nsca comes to Cecil County next month, go check it out! look for James Kursay. he drives a d3 procharged bbc powered malibu wagon. he has come up with an interesting bracket that helps brace blower from flexing. it fixed all of his belt walking issues. basically, it's a piece of aluminum rod with rod ends on it and it connects from the front of the blower to the back of the ds head. it's pretty nifty. it looks a whole lot better then the racecar tie-down we used on it a few years back at a race in columbus oh!

Almost all the parts (including those conections) were hand fabricated by me.

mw66nova

I go to those events every year. I was checking his setup out when it was first done, at the NSCA event. He had the S/C belt tighter than a banjo string, we pointed him in the right direction on tightening cogs. That car is definately a sleeper!

Since this is bumped back to the top...
I did a leak down this evening, and everything is well with the motor (Not that we had suspected anything).

Cylinders 4 & 8 were at 2%
Cylinders 1,5,6 &7 were at 4%
Cylinders 2 & 3 were at 5%

Valves are adjusted, and oil is changed.
I think it is ready to be beten on!

yeah, you talking about the first time he had it out two years ago? man the car was frickin' wild back then! James is so funny to me cause he had never drivin anything faster than his buddy tom's 11 second nova, and then went out and built this monster sized motor with a monster sized blower on it and said "hey, i wanna play!" he had the 12 rib belt on it then i think, and the belt would walk right off the front! it was so much fun that year.

speaking of James, i haven't talked to him in a while, i probably need to call him. last i knew, Procharger was going to hook him up with an f3 unit and an intercooler. haven't heard anything about that have you?

anyway, you got one incredible bird there, and when i am making more money, that is essentially what i wanna do, but on a slightly detuned smaller scale with a blow-thru carb ala JimPowski. i really dig the mega-fast car strapped to the ol' open trailer there too! just get an old beat up suburban and you'll be like Dan Forcucci from back in the Ol School Drag Radial days.

Whats up with Tory and his ride? I havent seen him aruond here for a while.

As for the jectors, I dont really have much $$ to offer for the injectors. $200?? LMAO

Seriously. I dont have much $$ to play with at the moment. Just caught up on bills recently from a couple low paychecks.

bjm323,
Water pump works out well, so far I haven't seen temps over 165*. I needed to move the pump because my accesories are on the pass side of the motor, and I couldn't sneak a hose through there.

Guido,
Thanks, but no thanks...
By the looks of things, I may end up sitting on these for a while, so give me a shout when you need a set. By then, I may take $300 who knows

I figure a week possibly 2 and it will be ready. Fabing up a crank support as we speak, should stop any belt issues. Then it has to go back on the dyno... I was only seeing 12psi, and would like to tune it with full boost before going to the track.

-Where do you have the intercooler? Any pics?

-About your intake...what manifold is that? What size TB, and is it a wilson unit?? And is the elbow the smaller one or the larger one they offer???

...still drooling

The intercooler is in front of the passenger seat, I will try to take some pics of it soon.

The intake is an Edelbrock super victor modified for F/I and ported by Second Street Speed. The elbow is the Wilson Manifolds 105 mm unit, with an Accufab 90mm throttle body.

I'll make an attempt to post dyno sheet........

I'm working on it! Got the first piece of the puzzle completed tonight. This is going to cure all my problems!
I feel the 1000rwhp mark is not too far out of reach myself.

absolutally beautiful craftsmanship. One of the best cars in this forum I have seen.

Quality of a show car and power to back it up down the track. Love to see more pic's that you have.

I hope when I'm done with my Turbo Vert its as 1/2 as nice as this formmy.

damn Don,
looking DAMN good. it's immaculate.
remember the old S-Trim?;
Finally got the motor in and the charger re-installed....startup in 1-2 weeks....just gotta finish with fluids.....need to drain the old gas and put in new, coolent, distributor, wires, battery, etc....but otherwise it's just about ready to fire up. I'll be making more HP than your motor (without your blower I hope ).....shooting for about 550 hp....we'll see.
