All Go Here Posts...

"ALLGOHERE" Posts...

In an attempt to clean up redundant posts because people (new and old) are not searching first or reading other articles at all, I am asking all to post their related questions within one large post. Eventually these ALL GO HERE posts will contain all the information you need on this topic. (either within or linked to other posts).

People who have been around a while... Please check these posts regularly to help out..

Of couse, anyone, always search first and read the other posts first.. I dont want the same answer comming up in these ALL POST HERE posts multiple times either.

If you find the answer to your question in another article, LINK TO IT so you can help others. After all, thats why we come here.

Later... when it might not be a common question. You can search for ALLGOHERE posts because it is one word.

Thank you all for your help in trying to keep this board easily usable...

any questions... email me. SNFLUPIGUS@HOTMAIL.COM

If i get a cam a little hotter than the LT1 cam will i need a new TBI Unit and a Fuel Pump? If i dont need a new TBI Unit, if i did buy one would it add power because of the cam?

wow you either knwo nothing about much of anything
(engine wise) or just worded that ignorantly.

Anyways yes a cam such as that which i'd considering massive compares to a stock l03 cam or such (paperweight) would most definetly add power but, only under a correct state of tune.

Theres numerous people that have tuned the proms after as little as a full exhaust and gained some good power and drivability from doing so, so i'm sure the addition of a mild cam would realy throw it off big time.

Well it could go both ways but I would say your stock pump could do it with the right tune but if you put on a bigger tbi unit you would have to go to a bigger pump to match the greater air flow. I powered my 350 to a 14.1@98 with the stock pump and modded stock tbi unit but as soon as I put the holley tbi base on I had to upgrade my pump and tune and then I ran a 13.8@105 so I hope this helps you.

Well you just pretty much answered your own question if you knew that the cam added power then didn't you........

How do you get power on an engine?, you increase airflow so you can burn more air and fuel. If you have more air then naturally you will need more fuel. You can increase fuel by increasing pressure but, at some point the stock throttle body which supposadly flows about 500cfm (or a little less actually) will become a restriction. although people have proven that they can flow 300hp through them. As for using the stock fuel pump you probably could but, no one would reccomend it.

and i aswered it, all i said is if you used your head you would have already known the answer.

Anytime you increase airflow you increase power if you have the fuel to do so. Although just like anything on an engine you can't just add 1 very good component like a huge cam in or 195cc afr heads on with all other stock components and expect to notice a huge gain. Basically you have to find the bottleneck and eliminate it.

The bottle neck on these are cam exhaust and then foll0owed by heads and manifolds.

throttle body is probably last.

100,000 things going on all at once...at least thats why I haven't been on as much. Anyways, this isn't the right thread for any of this info to go under, this is simply a thread to let people know about the ALLGOHERE search topics.
