Transmission: See "Engine"...
Been there, done that.

It doesn't take full effect until after October though. So, be prepared to still receive those annoying phone calls a bit longer.

In the mean time .... When you do answer the phone and its one of those "Door *****" .... say can you hold on, set the phone down, and go get a drink from the fridge. By the time you get back they will have hung up and if not say are you still there and set the phone down again. Your tying up their phone and costing them money .....

If your cell phone is like any cell phone I've used, it will cut out in the middle of most calls at anytime. Just help it by pushing the button. I don't know if it is true or not, but I read on another board that when your phone rings and you answer it to silence, and you keep saying "hello" to a dead line that it is a telemarketer's computer checking to see if anyone is home at that time. If you just hang up afterwards, the computer notes that someone was home and flags your number for a future call at that time. The suggestion was to hit the pound key a dozen times rapidly before you hang up. Supposedly, the constant rapid input confuses the computer and causes it to kick your number out of memory.

that's what I do but when the Telemarketers call me, it shows up on my phone as "private call" so I can't tell who is the caller if it is one of my friends or Telemarketer. The most thing I hate when they call me on Sunday morning which is my only day off.

This'll get 'em

This always gets em...If it's a telemarketer, tell them youre actually on the way out the door at the time and if you could get their home phone number you would gladly call them back. Of course, they won't give it to you. Then you can tell them that you understand that they wouldn't want to be bothered by a stranger at home (saw this on Seinfeld). Always gets a blank silence.

A possible telemarketer calls me the other day. Now this is a new way they might be trying. Is Ronald there along with the last name, and it's your brother right so your wondering why there calling for your brother at your place. they start to say He was not approved with Telecom for a cellular phone but we now can approve him with and off the wall name company. And your like OK I will sure tell him that when I speak with him. And the guy says we can approve you also right now. No thanks click. He thinks Im thinking he was just calling for my brother like he lived here. But he is calling my place trying to get me to get there service, probably why a service that my brother got a cell phone with Tel com or what ever it is. Sold his name and any reference Name to another company.

For the past almost year I get an Out of the area Number they keep calling around the clock. They don't say any thing. I just don't answer the phone any longer. They should make the telemarketer companies buy every one they have bothered new phones for wearing out there ringer.

telemarketers are suing.

Did you know that the Telemarketers Association is suing to try and block the Do-Not Call list from going into effect. They are claiming it violates there freedom of speach rights! What makes them think they have the right to call me on my private home phone, that I pay for, to try to sell me some crap? I put my home phone and cell phone on the Do-Not-Call list.

They might have a point there.. All and all with the economy the way it is now.. Loosing telemarketers could make a lot of people out of Jobs.. My 1st Job was a telemarketer for the Burn Survivors fund for the Fire department of Kern County. But I did not sell junk I sold Concert tickets for a good cause. A lot of students are telemarketers gives them jobs for the evening after a full days of class. I don't care what they do, I just like to have them stop calling the ones that don't say any thing and call every single day like on the clock..

Subject: Getting around the NO CALL LIST

Getting around the NO CALL LIST ...(sent to us by a friend)

This is to all of you that signed up for the "do not call" law.
This week I received a card in the mail that looked alright-- It
said "vote for your favorite cola - Pepsi or Coke- and receive a
complementary 12 pack" It didn't look suspicious--but for some reason I
kept looking at it. THEN I FOUND IT !! At the bottom of the card there
is a VERY small statement. It is SO small it is hard to read--but here
is what it says----
' By completing this form, you agree that sponsors and co-sponsors of
this offer may telephone you , even if your number is found on a do not
call registry or list "
This REALLY upset me and I just wanted all my friends to be aware
of this way to get around the "do not call" law !! Just think how many
people will send this in and their do not call registry will be NO GOOD
!! The company's name is MARKET SOLUTION. Please send this to all your
friends that signed up for " do not call" . I think this is just one of
what we will get in the future--so READ EVERYTHING before you SIGN AND
SEND !! AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT IT.!!!! PLEASE !!!
