Edelbrock Performer Air Gap RPM
Im going to buy the air gap intake to hold me over for now. It doesnt really match my cam and heads that well but I plan on getting new heads and cam. What's the highest lift cam that will work with this intake? I drive some streets but want to be in the low 12s at the track. I may buy trick flow 23 degree aluminum heads or dart pro heads. Basically, will this intake allow me to build a crazy motor with a lot of horsepower or should I buy anoter intake? I dont want to buy an intake now and then ditch it because it isnt as high performance as my heads and cam. Please Help I'm buying tomorrow!!! Thanks all

an intake works with your powerband......so if its 1500-6500...you are ok....if you have a powerband that climbs to 6500 and you only make power to 5500..then its no good for that combo

Air-gaps are really good intakes if they match you powerband like toosloz said, the only draw back I've seen with them is if your running a carb they take longer to warm up to the point where you can drive the car without it stalling on you. I have a friend with a Air-Gap on his Cuda 340 and he won't even attempt to drive it in traffic till it warms up good.

Car: 1991 Z28
Engine: 305 TPI under 14 psi
Transmission: aftermarket T56
Axle/Gears: Moser 12 bolt 3.08 gears
I second what stangkiller said. I put an airgap and speed demon on my 78 Z28 and it runs like crap untill it warms up. But with no choke or heat crossover what do you expect. So if it is a daily driver look for a diff intake.
