Hey all... rather than keep paying more money for a part just because it says Edelbrock etc... on it is just dumb.

Let's start a list of products that are the same part, but are made by someone else, sometimes for a cheaper price.

Two I can think of:

Edelbrock and Hotchkis suspension parts are the same

Fram and Quaker State oil filters are the same

I know there's more I don't know about... so add yours and maybe we can get a big list going.

speed pro parts cost more than the federal mogul equivilent, same company, same product, made in the same factories. go figure.

edelbrock carbs and mechanical fuel pumps cost more than carter stuff.....again same stuff. carter is owned by federal mugul as is weber carbs.....weber also makes the edelbrock carbs. their parts are interchangable.

I thought of another one...

Summit camshafts are old Weiand/Holley designs

SUM-K1103 camshaft has the identical specs as my old Weiand Action Plus camshaft... which you can no longer buy.

I suspect that all Summit camshafts are now, "Made in The USA", old Holley units.
