Aluminum Valve Covers / Aftermarket Coil

Hey All,

Anyone know of a good brand of aluminum valve covers for an '88 IROC (Small block 305/350)

I was thinking Edelbrock may carry something.

Also.... I'd like to get an aftermarket coil with a little more "punch" MSD or Accel seems the way to go.

Thoughts and/or opinions appreciated.

also look into the Crane HI-6 nice system very user friendly and no chips required. It's digital and you can set the rev limiter on the box rather then changing chips, you can also buy retard switch to put in the cab. and for 200 dollars isn't bad you also get crane L-92 coil with that from Jegs. hope this helps

Nick,

That sounds just about like what I want. the retard switch will come in handy for my L98 Rebuild w/ a 150HP Nitrous system.

You remember about how much you spent on the unit? (If you don't mind me asking)

it's in the first post the coil and box cost 200.00. you can also get the adapters for you setup from jegs about an extra 28.00

270-6000-6445 HI-6 w/LX92 coil. (jegs part numbers)
270-6000-6708 GM HEI w/Ext. Coil Adapter Harness adapter harness
270-6000-6713 GM HEI 7-Pin Module Coil-In-Cap adapter
harness.

no splicing required they give you everything you need. now for the retard box thats another story it cost 200.00 for the crane one. i don't use it so i don't know everything on that. i know someone here does though because they brought it up in another topic we were talking about. hope this helps

Just went to summit the same system i'm talking about the HI-6 w/LX92 coil is 199.95. the system your talking about is the lower model HI-6S. the one i'm talking about is the street and strip model. Just my 2 cents though

I see the price difference but just from the advertsiement i can't tell any difference except that they list more features fot the S model. But I do see the different models now.
