McLeod clutch... Where? How Much?

Apparently the stock replacement clutch I got about 14 months ago(~12000-15000 miles) doesn't like N20 very much. (It was only ~60hp shot). Anyways, I want a clutch that will hold up to 350+ to maybe 400 hp. Drag radials are a possiblity. My current clutch is alright, but my 2nd try w/N20 on a street gave me lots of slip in 3rd after the 2-3 shift and 4th as well. I think I just glazed it, but I want to get to ~100hp N20 and I don't think the clutch will hold up for long. Centerforce DF = $275 how much is the McLeod and why is it better?

Read the tranny/drivetrain forum for why the McLeod is better. Check out their website at http://www.mcleodind.com/ for dealers near you.

practically that entire website is under construction. The only thing I can get from that website is a part number. I'll also throw STAR clutches if someone knows anything about their "stage II".

I've read some in there, I understand the McLeod clutch is bigger, but I haven't seen proven things like claimed holding power or anything like that and seems like a few people dislike the DF centerforce clutch(which look like they could be caused by poor break in) I'm wondering if someone has purchased this clutch before and therefore would know how much it costs. If it doesn't have proven or at least a significant claimed increase in performance over the Centerforce yet costs more than $350 then I'll know which is my choice.

This is the aftermarket product review section right?

I have the Star stage III in my IROC, with a six speed. awesome clutch, even holds if I dump it in second gear. It has a slight chatter once in a while, but not much.

That's the LT1 clutch though right? I think it works completely different than the T5 set up. Thanks for the info though.

Yeah, it is. I just wanted you to know that it is good quality. I have also read nothing but good things about Star on the camaroz28 board. They also say that Star stands behind their product and that they have great customer service. Just FYI

www.summitracing.com has McLeod clutches. Just enter MCL-, then the part number you obtained from their site. Usually a special order, though, so you might have to call them to order it. McLeod is quite good, although a tad expensive.

McLeod clutches are better quality and are more holding power over the Centerforce crap.
