SLP or TPIS

I was wondering what runners are better SLPs or TPIS LargeTube? Also is the big mouth intake any different than say edelbrock/accel?

TPIs LTR is the best but the most expensive ones too.

The base is basicly the same, TPiS just add some port work on their, so go for the cheapest one.....

The TPiS base is a ported Edelbrock unit. Once they are done porting it, it has the same internal dimensions as an unported Accel base. Considering the unported Accel has more meat left for additional porting and goes for $50 - $75 less than the TPiS unit, you decide which is the better deal.

88 - That's interesting info. Over the years I've read several articles and followed a number of threads about all three intakes. I seem to recall all of them essentially flow about the same. In the end the Big Mouth would take a slight lead because of the hand porting.

Large tubes build more torque, siamese runners build little less torque, but give you more HP and allow you to carry more RPM's (which a TPI NEEDS). Just my $.02

Thanks for the help. I think I will take the cheap route and go with SLP and edelbrock intake.

the lingenfelter base and siamese runners flow more cfm than edelbrock/slp according to the TPIS insider hints book. You might want to check prices. You'll see 10 or so more HP with the lingenfelter stuff, but 10hp might not justify the price.

Lingenfelter/Accel doesnt sell siamese runners, only large tubes. Also TPIS doesnt port their big mouth base anymore. Its just an Edelbrock intake with their name on it, for $100 more. Forget that. SLP runners and an Edelbrock intake would be a good deal.

Kevin,
Are the SLP and the Arizona Speed and Marine basically the the same runners?

No, the SLP and AS&M are not the same. TPiS and AS&M are the same....Look at their websites and you'll see the diffrence.
