exhaust advice??
I'm planning on purchasing a cat-back. I really love the look/sound of Borla's model specifically designed for 3rd gen. models, but what's the big deal with those caps that can adjust the volume?? Would I have to take it back to the shop everytime I want to switch them or what? I also hear people talking about the Electrip clip. Not too sure what that is either. BTW my car is all stock right now with a 5.0 305. I'm new to this whole modifications hobby. Help please, I need some reccommendations. Thanks.

Re: exhaust advice??
5.0 is a 305, not a 350. 5.7 is a 350.
Second, their exhaust is designed so the right side tailpipe can be removed and different sized plates can be put in there to adjust how much exhaust goes thru the muffler and how much bypasses the muffler and goes right out the tips. You can change the plate in your driveway with a couple wrenches.

Before I went to duals, I was using the Hooker 3" cat-bat. Sounds awesome, and I'd recommend it highly.

Re: exhaust advice??
You would be better off finding a local shop to fab one up for you. Just ask around there has to be atleast 1 decent exhaust shop near you.
Plus, depending on your $$ situation, I would have them do the whole thing. The factory y pipe is so small it's ridiculous, it has to go first
I paid around 350$ for a custom y pipe and 3" exhaust. That included hanging the muffler, welding on the chrome tips and tying it all up to the headers.
Good luck....!

Re: exhaust advice??
thats a pretty good deal $350 for the y back. i was gonna say flowmaster american thunder has been great for me but since you have the stock y pipe my opinion would be to find a reputable shop and have them do it.
and as for the electric clip i think your talking about an electric cut out which opens up your exhaust to straight pipes with the flick of a switch which means about another $150 or so more depending on the exhaust size.

wow that electric cutout, sounds like a good idea. haha too bad Guam is full of shops that'll try to rip all their customers off. i checked this one shop today, it would cost $400+ for a 3" custom exhaust. i'm feeling really indecisive right now.
