Best tune up on a 2.8l firebird
what do i need? specially brand names...to ask for at local car stores
What are the best spark plugs to use?
what else do i need to do besides spark plugs, wires, belts.

gaskets? on a tune up?
Usually doesnt matter what brand name but AC Delco plugs are the best.

I usually do oil change, air filter, sparkplugs, wires (if bad), distrib. cap and rotor.
just get the store to list the brand names, if ones familiar.... take it lol.

i would go with acdelco they make all most everyt hing for firebird that yr let say you go with a german name brand you might get less spark for your bang if you know what i mean any way acdelco been around for ever and are the name brand for firebirds i have a 2.8 88 firebird my self all so have a 85 camaro camaro uses the same and 2.8 is not a bad motor its pretty good till you have to replace the fuel injectors or the emc for the firebird been there done that you buy the spark plugs the light gun to time the timing if belt look bad i would replce that if plugs are bad would change them if cap bad would replace that as well look under hood you should see gap for spark plugs i would do a system flush as well depens on how long that stuff been cooling your car for would change wipeer blades if they where not done in a long time would do a tranmisson oil change soon if you never done so change oil make sure there no water in oil or any gas if theres water in coolent headgasket gas in oil blow by meaning piston rings are going need to bereplaced asapa or the pistons will freez up and will coast more to replace or your looking at a motor rebuild check every thing tires you name it on your tune up why do you think shops charge so mutch for it but make sure the shop or your self dos a lot of the checking up on motor clean throttle body with carb cleaner to get black unwanted stuff from throttle body insides

seafoam the intake through the brake booster line!!!! that cat is probably already shot so smoke the hell out of it!!! cleans the intake up real nice. ppl say to use 1/3 of the can but I usually use 1/2 the can about twice a year. To clean the motor i would run a half quart of marvel mystery oil in the oil to the other 4 quarts of reg. oil. Check the oil weekly and change when dirty. To disperse moisture and clean injectors and such I would use b12 chemtool in the gas tank. These are the products i use personally on my 89 2.8 camaro with 165,000 and climbing.
