Summit 2 piece timing cover set

Steer clear of this FAIL. Wow tried twice now to get it and the new Summit oil pan to go down, and forget it. Ok, It's in there, but with lotsa RTV to hopefully keep my brand new build up from oozing black gold all over the place. There are no instructions, ie: torque values, and using the shop manual values blew the paper gaskets to crap. It would not mate to the front of the new oil pan, so I took it apart, to evaluate. Well 4 of the 5 spot welds came apart. The chrome cover came with nice inside wrenching (read allen head) fastners, but the cover distorts way too easily. Tech support was resonable in help, though they confirmed that there were no instructions, and his recommended torque was the snug and stop. Tough to make an accurate oil seal with snugish. Dunno, me thinks it's better to stick witha steel factory style witha little paint.
Remember,
(RESULTS NOT TYPICAL, MILEAGE MAY VARY, and BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED!)

Re: Summit 2 piece timing cover set
Nah, let me say the summit stuff is great. I used their oil pan, timing set, push rod guides, and others just on this build. It should be widely known that there stuff is mostly if not all unmarked brand name stuff. This timing cover is also made by Mr. Gasket for 2 bucks more. Coincidence? Just no luck with this piece. Got my media blaster working today, and cleaned up the old stocker, fresh paint and installed now. Heads go on in the AM. later
