what coolant filtration system to get

I am interested in getting a coolant filter system for my car. Can anybody recommend a system or parts to combine for my 1987 camaro? Thanks

Re: what coolant filtration system to get

Dude thanks for the link! I have been reading about all these guys who get ridiculous miles out of there cars and trucks and they all have coolant filters. Coolant gets ridiculously nasty in know time and I figure the cleaner the coolant is the cleaner my engine, radiator, and hoses are. Thanks "Thescaryone"

Re: what coolant filtration system to get

Ive never heard of it. I do know people that have taken multiple cars over 450k miles without this. They just regulary did thier oil changes and maintenance meaning coolant service. I do not trust these 5 year coolants, I say minimum service your cooling system once every 2 years.

768,000 km on my truck, no coolant filter.

A few bits of debris in the coolant will have absolutely no impact on the effectiveness of the cooling system or the longetivity of the engine.

This doesn't look like sand, it looks like a factory sealing tab.

Re: what coolant filtration system to get

I just read the new diesel power magazine this month and the article in the back really caught my attention. yes I know its a diesel but he has 1.6 million miles on it now and has a coolant filter, and filter magnet. So I figured why not give it a try. This is an older article but the same truck.

Re: what coolant filtration system to get

I think one of the main things is. Service your system. Do not use tap water. Use distilled water, I like full concentrate coolant and then 50/50 with distilled water. Maybe 60/40 depending on location.
