ZR1 tail light conversion bumper from sarona
Hey guys, I found a bumper that would switch a camaro to zr1 tail lights (my favorite lights ever) but they site says its only for 82-89 camaros. Anyone know how hard it'd be to get this looking right on my 92? Here's the link.

Thanks!

Anythings better than the ugly grid tail lights that these girls came with. They're the only part of the car that is ugly. And the pictures these companies take are always on the ugly side. They'd most likely look better in person.

idk these cars have sharper, more geometric lines, the hood, the dash, the headlights. i feel the only tail lights that would look at home are the ones they have now, or rectangular ones, maybe like a 1st gen

Re: ZR1 tail light conversion bumper from sarona
Not a huge fan. But i'd have to see in person to have a full opinion on it. The grid tail lights arent bad IMO But I dont have them. I always wanted to upgrade to grid and then I really started liking the 89 ones better. Split by the black in the middle. I do think I am going to pain tthe amber red someday. It's either that or get clear ones and I am not overly sold on those either...

Re: ZR1 tail light conversion bumper from sarona
Id pay the price gladly if it gets rid of the tail lights. I just wanted to make sure that it would work, wasn't sure if the rear bumper got updated for the 90-92 models and it wouldn't work. Hopefully ill start getting more hours at work I can get this and post some pics of it.

Yes, cuz an 18 year old high schooler can afford a c4 vette. I was just worried that the updated bodystyling of the 90-92 camaros changed the rear bumper. But if theres no difference Im deffinetly going to try this. hours at my job are picking back up so i might be able to get it done soon

Re: ZR1 tail light conversion bumper from sarona
I have been looking at this for awhile. I already purchased some led lights for it but still looking around at different makes. If i'm not wrong, you will have to bond it into the car. I don't think it has studs in it like the tail lights have. If they do have them and someone that is reading this knows so, please get back at me. I did alot of looking around for lights and these are the ones I bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...47417&viewitem=
They were the cheapest I could find at a new price that I thought looked ok.

Re: ZR1 tail light conversion bumper from sarona
Personally I love my grid tailights! My car would look weird without them.... I own a C4 Corvette that I got when I was 19 so I don't need Corvette tailights on my Camaro to get the look. haha Personally I don't like this mod, I think it looks terrible. But hey if you get it done post up some pics I would like to see some actual pics of the panel on a real camaro. haha not that awful notchback or whatever it's called...

Can't really tell from the picture but it looks like this kit does away with the side marker lights. Might get you flunked during inspection.

Re: ZR1 tail light conversion bumper from sarona
the funny thing is, it does kind of look like a c4 (from the back) in real life, till a c4 pulls up next to it theres some guy who lives somewhere in my area with that mod. its a maroon camaro with the normal hatch (not a notchback or w/e) & he put a corvette badge on the top of his hatch lid. like the older corvettes have. LOL <- i do that every time i see it.
IMO it looks OKAY, IF you do it Perfect. and it only looks OKAY from the back. the rounded lights dont really compliment the 'boxy' look of a Third Generation Camaro.

Hey guys, he only asked if it would fit, which someone answered. He however didn't ask what the whole world thought about something he evidently likes. Want people to keep coming to the boards? On another note opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one, including myself.

Re: ZR1 tail light conversion bumper from sarona
If you do it, I would change the factory rear spoiler. The slanted spoiler would no longer look right without the wrap around tail lights. Maybe a convertible spoiler or a wing might work. Just my O.

just get some smoked tail light covers. they really clean up the rear and look nice. my brake lights and signals shine through nice and clear.

if someone posted a link asking if this is a good price for a tornado, you'd let them waste their money?

I would say that there is no such thing as a good price for a tornado. That being said, if someone asked me if the tornado with the right part number would fit the car in question, I would say yes.

Re: ZR1 tail light conversion bumper from sarona
personally i also like my grid taillights but hey your car do what you want. if everyone told everyone how to have there car every thirdgen out there would look the same and there would be no variety. although looking at the link he put up i personally dont think it would look that bad. different thinks done equals more variety making the third gen live on and not boring thumbs up
