Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
I ordered the spohn t56 conversion crossmember/torque arm a couple months ago. I was getting all the parts I needed. Today I was finally able to put in the transmission after waiting maybe 4 months! I was so excited only to be bummed by the crossmember not fitting. Did anyone else have the problem? Did I do something wrong? Or did they just send me the wrong product. I hope Spohn can help me out with this even though I purchased this a few months ago...

From what I've been reading lately, good luck with Spohn helping you out with anything except making your wallet lighter and causing headaches.

Re: Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
Crap... I really want to be able to use their setup with the torque arm on the crossmember. If they cant work it out with me, yall think I will be able to make some kind of steel plate to offset the transmission mount?

Welding an extension plate on there wont hurt anything, just be sure to check the driveline angle first

Re: Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
if its SUPPOSED to fit you shouldnt have to modify it much. By welding extension pieces seems to be too much IMO. thier is no way for it be backwards right? is your engine mounted in the stock location?

Re: Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
i have the spohn crossmember with attached torque arm for a t56 conversion and tht part is not it. the holes for the trans mount are different, there are 3 of them that are slotted, not round. look the part up on their website and see the difference

Re: Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
I contacted them and It seems I made a mistake and ordered the after market Tremec T56 setup.... This was 3 months ago so I dont think I will be able to do anything. I may be able to move it up a little more and drill a hole in the middle.

Re: Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
ahh that sucks. gotta double and triple check it. You know sometimes companies will take it back at a restocking fee and let you get the right one. you'd be losing a little bit of money. but the customer satisfaction would be great. I mean if Spohn did that for you. You'd go to them for all your future suspension purchases right?

Re: Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
Yea ofcourse, I have already purchased suspension items from them before that worked just fine. I just hope I'll be able to fix this, I like the setup of the torque arm attached to the crossmember better than the transmission itself. I'll have to call them tomorrow instead of emailing them.

Re: Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
Good news! They said they would do an exchange but with an 20% restocking fee witch I'm fine with since I made the mistake.

Re: Spohn Crossmember not fitting.
Yeah that is good gesture by them. I had a feeling they'd do that. 20% restocking plus lost shipping fees.
