Glasstek 4" BOLT ON for Camaro

This is just my review of the product, take it as you will.

I ordered it from Hawks a while back. It took three weeks to get here, I don't mind because I was on vacation for two of those weeks. It arrived this morning and it took me only two hours by myself to get the old hood off and put this one on.

If you buy this hood, you'll have to get out the dremel and massage some holes . The bolts that come with the hood are bigger than the stock ones. The holes for the hood hinges and for the secondary hood release will need some work.

If you still have the lamp under your hood there are no accomodations on the new hood for it so you'll have to put some brain power into that... The hole for the primary hood latch IS NOT cut out so your hood WILL NOT latch all the way at first. I just took a dremel too it.

As is expected, trimming is required around the edges. I had to go to work so my hood looks kinda funky right now, also I haven't hooked the light back up yet.

All in all it seems to be a good product right off the bat, we'll see later on down the road.

Good to hear. Im getting ready to fit my Glasstek hood now. I only live an hour or so from there shop. I was able to drive there and get it. Im going to bolt it to my hinges and use hood pins to latch it. Did you get rid of your cylinders on your hinges that hold the hood up? I wasnt sure if those could still be used.

My worn out ones were to worn to keep my hood up. New stock ones were so strong my hood would start to bend if I didn't have some one help and push it down on both sides.

Im gonna look on summit and see if i can find some that will work.
