Fed EX bites!

I ordered a cam and lifters wed night from Summit.I paid $20 extra for it to be next day aired so I'd get it Friday(I needed it by Saturday).I made sure someone was here all day to recieve it.At 6 I got home and it hadnt arrived yet.I called Summit and after a great job(Summit rules!)They find out Fed Ex says it was delivered at 2:03!!!Funny,if it was delivered wheres it at?!?!?!?!
Well,Summit had Fed Ex call the driver and she said she delivered it and would be back tomorrow to" help me find it".
Well I got to thinking and on a wild hunch went to the apt building up the street.I go to the apt # corrosponding to mine and knock.I apologize for bugging the guy and told him I was expecting a package and Fed Ex was saying it was delivered and I was wondering if he received it by mistake.Sure enough he had it!!! He said he came home from work and it was leaning on his door!!!
So Fed Ex went to THE WRONG BUILDING (I guess 311 and 315 look alike)and she left my $500 order on a strangers doorstep in plain view with NO SIGNATURE!!!

Im soooooooooooooooooo p.o.'ed right now.

Mistakes happen, like leaving it at the wrong address. Now leaving it without a signature is up to the SHIPPER, not the receiver. The shipper makes the call weather to leave it or require a signature. If it never makes it to you Summit will have to ship another one and submit an insurance claim to FedEx.

In other words the only thing the FedEx driver is guilty of is leaving it at the wroong address.

The fed ex guy did the same thing to me last week with a 200 dollar order, he just leaves it 2 houses down from, me in plain sight and no signature. Needless to say I was pissed.

Hummm, sounds like you have a bad driver. I'd call 1-800-GoFedEx to complain.

Lucky you guys, I orderd my Protopline heads, and I come home expecting them on my doorstep, instead I have a sticker on my door handle

"We require a signature, you may sign this form and leave it on the door tomorrow to recieve your package w/o a signature or pick it up yourself blah blah blah"

Pissed me off, UPS just puts it behind my house...FedEx for ME requires signature....

It depends on the driver. The guy who delivers to my house also delivers to my business. I have most stuff delivered to my business but I had one package going to my house that required a signature. It was a Friday, and instead of leaving a slip, he brought it down to the shop so I had my stuff for the weekend.
My old UPS driver used to throw my packages at my dog from his truck- I called up to complain and it wasn't the first time. Haven't seen him in a while.
US Mail-- sometimes they will leave a note and I have to pick them up, sometimes they will leave the box balanced on top of the box. This summer, after being away for a week (stopped the mail) I found a box behind the mailbox in the weeds. It had been there so long, ants and worms had taken up residence!

Fedex is the worst shipper, let me relate my story to you.
In the past year I have had 4 packages sent to me by Fedex.
The first one got lost at the terminal where it was dropped off.

The second one the tracking said it was left on the porch, I was home the whole time and Fedex never came by. I called them and said their driver was falsifying their delivery forms, 2 hours he drops it off without even knocking on the door.

Third item was a fender. Tracking showed it was in town on the truck waiting delivery...for 5 (working) days it showed this. I called Fedex again, they said it was damaged in shipping and was being returned. I told them to bring it by so I could inspect it, they didn't bring it by, just sent it back. The tracking showed it was at the sender's town on a truck out for delivery, then it showed it was back in my town on a truck for delivery. The next day it showed it back on a truck headed back to the sender. 3 trips up and down the east coast and they completely distroyed it.

Fourth one was supposed to be delivered on a Friday no Fedex delivery truck ever came even though tracking showed it on the truck for delivery. Called Fedex at 6pm and chewed them out good, went out the front door at 8pm and there was the package in front of the door, the guy just came up while we were eating and tossed it on the porch without even knocking on the door.

Avoid Fedex at all cost, they are thieves.
A friend of mine had an order come by Fedex 3 day, it came in 1 day and was at the Fedex terminal. He went by the terminal (near his house) to get it. They said he couldn't have it until the day it was scheduled to arrive, 2 days away.

With attitudes like this they will put themselves out of business, and the sooner the better.
I will not accept Fedex shipping from anyone that I order through.

It could be worse. At the salvage yard I used to work at, we shipped everything UPS. Well one day we get an order for an 88 Isuzu Trooper grille and we ship it out. This is one hell of a tough grille to come by, and the guy had been looking for well into the third month. On the fourth day after the thing went out, we got a package back from the guy, it turned out to be half of the grille (the half with our address on it), in half the original box, but with new brown tape on it (we used clear). Later the same day, the guy called and was a bit pissed because he had recieved the other half (also with brown tape). UPS tried like hell to stick it on us, but in the end we won. Unfortunately the customer had to start looking for another grille.

I'm boycotting FedEx for several reasons. UPS and USPS are my carriers of choice. Let me give you my latest example of FedEx service. I received an order for a GM part and discovered the last one I had in stock was damaged. I ordered 3 from a Chevy dealership that is about an hours drive from here. I called on the 11th of Sept. and found out they had received the items and were shipping it out that day. Friday the UPS truck arrives, but no package from that dealer. I called the dealer again and found out it was shipped by FedEx Ground COD! WTF?

I explained that I set up my account to ship only by UPS or their truck. I'm pissed for several reasons. First, I have a credit card on file with that dealer, so they shouldn't have shipped it by COD (an extra $10 I'm told). Second I've notified my customer that I'll have it Friday and ship it to him the same day. Third that they shipped it by FedEx, which requires me to wait around all day for their truck, since they have no set time that they deliver. I'm told that the Parts Manager that set up my account is on vacation until Monday, but I left a message for him to call me. I waited around all day Friday, no delivery. I received no call Monday morning so I called him. He hadn't been given the message to call me. I explained the situation. I waited around all day Monday, still no delivery from FedEx Ground. I called the dealer again late that afternoon and wasn't able to get hold of the Parts Manager (meeting). Tuesday I call and get hold of him. He tells me he has ordered 3 more Monday to be delivered to his dealership overnight. They were delivered to me later Tuesday 9/16 by his truck.

Care to guess what showed up the 29th a full two weeks later? My original order via FedEx Ground COD! I just laughed at the driver and told him to take it back.

Just for the record,in my original post I mentioned the driver was supposed to come back Saturday to "help me find it"(the me I think about it,that makes it sound like I'm the one who lost it).THE DRIVER NEVER SHOWED UP!!!Even though I found it myself by that point Fed EX didnt know that and I was expecting her!
Like Ive also said,I emailed FedSux a complaint on Friday, and as of today (tuesday) have yet to get a reply.

I'm sorry you guys have had bad luck with FedEx. I guess maybe it's because I live in Memphis, but I've never had a problem with FedEx (and only one late package with FedEx ground) however, I have had NUMEROUS problems with UPS. Packages not being delivered, Driver saying they couldn't find the building even though a UPS driver comes to my works building every day.

I really think it depends on the area you live in and who your driver is. I've had the same FedEx guy for over a year that I've worked in the same place. He's always nice and even remembers what I get (actually that's kinda scary...lol)

Anyways, sorry for you all's bad luck.

Yes, NEVER order from Fed Ex! They're so incompetant that it's ridiculous. I've had orders get lost, or sent to California when it was coming from New York (I live in Indiana, figure that one out), and one time they left a 3,900 dollar computer at my NEIGHBOR's front door, with no signature, nobody home to accept it, nothing. All I trust anymore is UPS, and the US mail if I don't need the item right away.

Where I work, we always try to avoid shipping fed-ex.
The equipment we ship is very fragile and ships in 300lb wooden crates marked "fragile" all over. These guys bang them around right in front of us. Imagine how much abuse they're getting when we can't see them!
My 2 cents...

I could give you horror storys about UPS as well but I won't. Too lazy to type.

All I can say is ALL SHIPPERS have problems sometimes due to the IMMENSE volume of shipments they do. Your one package is one in millions.

All in all I have had far less trouble shipping FedEx compared to all the other shippers. I ship everyweek too.

Since I started my business I have had no problems with Fedex or UPS. USPS has been the thorn in my side. When ever I get a package the driver NEVER tries to deliver it to my house. Even though I have gone to the post office and complained about it, told them I have a home business and nearly all packages are customer parts. I've even given them my phone number to call me when I get a package in so I can go out to the mailbox and wait for the driver to stop by on his normal route. 3/4ths of the time he has "accidently left" the package behind at the post office How can he forget to put the package in his truck after calling me???? I was out of town for 1 day and He even left a package at my mailbox on the Main road!!! Thank goodness my grandmas best friend saw the package there and brough it into her house and called my grandma. Someone could have stoped and taken it away with them if they wanted too

Such hard working individual's at the Cove Arkansas post office.

I'm happy with UPS and Fedex because they drive that extra 1/5th mile off the main road to my house and deliver everything to me or take the packages to my grandmas house just on the same road.
Heaven forbid if the USPS driver did the same.

When ever you ship something or have it shipped to you, get tracking and insurance. I always do that cause you never know if something will go wrong.

I always know when UPS delivers a package, because I can hear it hit the ground.

I always know when Fed Ex delivers a package, because I can hear the doorbell.

I only wish I was kidding.

Just the opposite here. Sometimes I swear the Fedex driver throws it onto the porch from the driveway.

I was waiting 3 1/2 weeks for a por-15 shipment to come FedEx. One of the guys in FedEx HQ wrote my address wrong somewhere (maybe on the delivery sheet).... even though it was correct in the database. So when I called to tech support they couldn't figure it out... the guys that were delivering it couldn't find my house (surprise surprise) and they delivered it the wrong house a good 6 or 7 times.... Eventually they found out some idoit screwed up and the only excuse they offered me was "Sorry, that guy has been known to do that since his hand writing is so bad." I was severly pissed off about it. I mean if you're hand writing is that bad can't they just copy paste and print it out?

I was starting to think I was going to get a can of dried up paint... to make it worse the paint shop place wouldn't really work with me. Even though I said ship it UPS they still shipped it FedEx.

well for me it seems like:

USPS likes to take FOREVER

UPS likes to brake my ****

FEDEX likes either lose my stuff or just throw it off the truck.

small example. i ordered new race fairings for my bike (carbon fiber/carbon kevlar) it took 3 weeks to get to me cuase at first they "lost" it. then it magically appears, then when i do get it i just happened to be walking by the front window mid day when i see this huge cardboard box (about the size of the the bike) just out on the sidewalk. so i go out there and see its my fairings with my invoice/credit info and all that **** on it..
