Autozone.com

Well, I had an rather unplesant experience with autozone.com, I guess it's no big surprise, so here's what happened:

I needed to find a replacement EGR Valve for my car, but I couldn't find one that matched the cross reference number I had (stock EGR).

I finally found it on AutoZone’s web site, but it was an Online Special Order part... so what the heck, I decided to order.

As I was ordering I also noticed the spark plugs I need for my engine are special order at the store, available online, so I order them also, along with my TPS and 2 gaskets I needed.

So I ordered, 2 days later my order shipped, but the invoice online doesn't mention the spark plugs I ordered AND it shows a charge for shipping (Mind you if you spend $50 or more, you get free ground shipping.
) so then I emailed them and asked about the sparkplugs and shipping, never received an answer.

Got my order today, as I expected, no spark plugs, and I was charged for shipping! I then called them, got 2 people that couldn't speak English and had no clue what I was talking about. The first guy told me I didn't order any sparkplugs, but my order receipt I have here from when I ordered shows them clearly on the order.

Finally on the third try I get someone who can kind of speak English. He tells me that I didn't get my spark plugs because they are out of stock, and will not be in stock any time soon, if ever. Then he said he will go ahead and credit me for shipping.

All I can say is I now hate autozone.com, the store doesn't impress me much either.

One other thing... the way they ship things is totally ridiculous. They put an EGR valve, a TPS sensor, and 2 gaskets all in a thin bubble envelope, the boxes the parts came in look like they have been through a war, I hope the parts are all okay.

Never again! AND I think you should think twice if you are going to place an order with them.

I am not a big fan of autozone either. Went to their store here in town, bought tune-up parts, installed parts. Car ran fine, for about a month, then, as I was driving along, it just quit. Running one second, coasting the next..... Went thru the troubleshooting, seems the distributor cap was bad. Took the old one back to the store, got a new one, installed it, everything was fine. 1 week later, as I was driving along, the car quit......... HHhhhhmmm, immediately checked the dist cap, yep, bad. Went back to the store, got a new one, (warranty, each time) installed it, lasted 3 days. I was seriously underwhelmed. Went back to store, talked to manager, and got my money back. Went to Advanced Auto, bought the Accel cap, and it is still on there, three years later.

I will not buy mission critical parts from them anymore, or, anything else if I can avoid it.
