Yeah he got the catalogs, of course. The funny thing is, I ordered a n2o pressure gauge and fittings for $40 and got a hat

Re: Summit

Black with flames? Yeah, it's way cooler(or would that be hotter?) than a yellow Jegs hat.

Good service and free hats! Oh... and parts, too. I guess Cartman was right, as usual: give 'em something free, and "they will come." The boy knows what works, lol.

Yeah, I've always had good luck with Summit too(and Jegs), though I've never tried to return anything yet... yet. But that might be happening soon, so I'll see then.

And I love their website. I can spend hours there making a 'wish list.'

You know, with all the interest in this unique hat, I thought I'd better snap a picture, so I grab my camera, set the flash, and hit the button....nothing, dang it's dead...hehe

I bought one of the Perma cool fans and I got a free hat, though it's not the one with flames. It's just a regular black hat with the word Summit on it.

Yeah, summit's service is excellent. Fast shipping and great easy-to-use website setup. I would recommend them. Still have to send some stuff back because we ordered the wrong parts but that wasnt Summit's fault.

Btw, got the black summit hat and a white t-shirt

Re: Summit

I ordered a $9 item from Jegs and got a Hat!

Summit has been great... but my last order...
I ordered a Flowmaster Cat Back system, was told by them and Summit that it came with a Super 40...

Mine came, no super 40, had a 30 series... one of the pipes wasnt "hydrastreched" & Flowmaster sent out another one for free. I think I'll prefer the 30 series to the 40...

That's only 1 semi bad experience out of 10 or so... but still, no hat from summit

Re: Summit

Last year I ordered the Edelbrock Y-pipe from Summit and HOLY S*** was it a pain in the ***. I had to order it in two pieces, the first of which took about a month to arrive. The second took two and a half. When the second piece arrived, they forgot the flange to connect it to the header, and the diameter was just slightly too big for the donut gaskets. I had to modify. A week later they sent me the flange which was the wrong size. I waited another week before I recieved the correct one. All together It took over three months to recieve this Y-pipe when it was promised in two weeks. They kept blaming Edelbrock, saying that the part had to be manufactured. My issue was that when I placed the order, I emphasized the importance of recieving this part on time and was assured, in a patronizing manner, that it would be in my hands within two weeks. Sure enough, it took three months. The only way I would use Summit again is if I had absolutly no choice. I don't ever foresee that being the case. As an aside, I have NEVER had a complaint about JEGS, and I have used them many times.

Re: Summit

I got a hat just buying Summit's engine dress-up kit for my old Malibu and got a hat, pretty cool 'cause I wasn't expecting it, they just put it in there! I order stuff from them like once a week and have accumulated about 30 sheets of stickers, not to mention if you go there to buy something and go to the pick-up counter they have a stack of stickers which you can take as much as you want!

87IROCZ350TPI, my father in-law ordered a Pontiac dress-up kit from Spectre that took over a month and a half to recieve due to backorder. Also a pair of "Hurst equipped" emblems that took a month, but somtimes that's just something that is out of Summit's hands if the manufacturer can't manufacture them fast enough. First buyer is first receiver, it's only fair no matter who you are or how bad you need the part, it's how a business is run. Summit emailed me like every 2 days to update me on what was going on and when to expect my stuff (I ordered the parts for my father in-law) and were very helpful. I would give Summit another chance considering how many people stand behind their service, like me.

Re: Summit

I have also had very good luck with Summit. I usually switch back and forth between Summit and Jeg's and they both send hats and stickers!! In fact, I took my son (12) to the Gatornationals this year and I wore the Summit hat and he wore the Jeg's hat. They gave us hell at both booths in the pits!!

I would say the same thing had I not been the person who experienced my particular ordeal first hand. As I said above, the part was promised in two weeks, and I made it crystal clear to the rep that I absolutely needed the part within a month's time. The rep said very patronizingly that I would have the part when it was promised. Please don't take me the wrong way, but a business is also run by being forthcoming and respectful the the customers. Unlike you, I did not recieve any calls or updates from Summit. After three weeks, I started contacting them to find out what was going on. If a customer says that he needs this part within a certain amount of time, don't you think that maybe the manufacturer should be contacted to confirm the availability? Especially if you're going to give him a hard time about emphasizing the fact that time is an issue? That delay caused a lot of problems. I'm glad that you fellas have had good experiences with Summit, and I hope they continue. I have had a handful of good expeiences with them as well, they ended about two years ago. I don't know what has changed, but my last three orders have been botched, and I'm F*****G sick of it. I have never had the problems with other companies that I have had with Summit lately, and like I said above, I would not use them again unless absolutely necessary. And just to be clear, I'm not telling any of you to stop using Summit, that's not what this forum is about. I'm simply giving you my experience with them so you can weigh it against your own, and make a decision about which aftermarket supplier you want to deal with.

Hey firedawg, Summit ships their items wordwide. I can't remember how much the shipping was, but it's cheaper than buying parts locally.

I got a set of Summit brand drag shocks and they sent me a hat... wasn't more than $75 order total, maybe you have to buy a summit brand item to get the hat?

Summit is great though, never taken them more than 3 days to get me my stuff.

Re: Summit

I was told the hats normally only come with your first purchase. They have been great for me. If I order by 10:00pm they will still have it on the truck that night. I had an MSD box go bad right on the 1year anniversary from when I bought it. They shipped me the replacement right away. They did not wait to get mine. And no questions asked.

Re: Summit

I've probably spent $1200 to 1800 w/ Summit (I know that's not a lot, but I shop around w/ different vendors), & I don't think I've ever had a problem. This last week I ordered Bilstein struts for the front of my GTA, scheduled delivery time was Thursday & I got 'em on Weds. It's almost gotten to the point where I almost don't even bother checking other places, but I do want to save whatever money I can...

Going to be testing their return policy today though, I started thinking about it & decided that I'd really prefer the adjustability of the Konis instead...

And I've never gotten a hat, d@mmit!!

(Although I do have a t-shirt...)

Re: Summit

I've ordered from Summit several times...only had a problem once, when I ordered my headers and they forgot to include the bolts..other than that great, fast service...for example, I recently placed an order on a Friday, received it on SATURDAY. now that's good. haven't gotten many hats, though..they usually give me magazines for some reason. oh well. I'd say they're worth ordering from.
