Pace Performance crate engine's

Hi, I am looking forward to getting the ZZ383 Turn-key engine from Pace Performance, I was wondering if anybody has experience with them on crate engines, and was also wondering if they fully assemble and run there engines before shipping to customer's like leak tests/dyno, etc.. thanks

also in your opinions what engine would you guys recommend more, the 383 Turn-key from T and L http://www.tandlengines.com/chevy_sb...um_383_tk.html

or the GMPP ZZ383 Turn-key engine from Pace Performance

The engines from Pace come from GM. They are not run before hand. Just assembled at the factory in mexico or wherever, crated up, and shipped. At most, Pace may just install some additional accessories for the turnkey motors.

I see, if you got an engine from pace/GM would you put it in your car right away or would you take it apart and check it? they never ran, but everything should be nice and torqed?

Re: Pace Performance crate engine's

I picked up there 383 pace pak 425hp zz383 and love it so far. I cant wait till this crappy ohio weather breaks and I can give her h***. I checked the rockers, head bolts and intake bolts and all were o.k. Motor started on the 4th crank, some quick adjustments and purrs like a kitten. I drove there and picked it up so they knocked off 300. Shot me a pm if you have any q's on this particular install. I will be happy to share the all the info I have for the install.

Re: Pace Performance crate engine's

It is basically a 350 = fits right in. The waterpump is for v-belt pullies but I bought a march serp conversion. Hood does not fit with that intake/carb setup. I just bought a harwood yesterday. I did build my 700r and put a non lockup converter. I kept my dual fan setup and wired 1 to come on with ignition, other temp sensor in the head. I have the stock radiator.

Re: Pace Performance crate engine's

To tell you the truth that would be a better ? for someone more knowledgable than myself. It will depend on your suspension, tires etc... I would be interested though as I speculate maybe 12 with my setup but I plan on putting the same supercharger on this motor just like CHP did. (746hp) But back to topic. If you have any ?'s about the specifics on the motor pace will help best they can. I called them dozens of times. They even gave me names of other places that might be able to answer my ?'s better.

Re: Pace Performance crate engine's

It's a 2 year or fifty thou miles but you need to call pace and talk to them about the install (if you do it, it might void the warranty.) My frieand is a pace dealer and he is able to verify that it was installed correctly and maintained.
